I loved it, Rickie - very current, plus you put no confinements on the type of poem, which made it easier, too. And from the feedback I received from reviewers, I'd said readers had fun with it, as well. So - job well done!! Encore, encore! xo

Things would have been very different if there had been cell phones and now they will never be the same. I wonder what is coming next in the way of technology?

I don't think I have a vivid enough imagination to guess!! I guess as long as it's not a chip they surgically implant, I'll be able to handle it, though...

Cute - and my opinion of smart phones, iphones is rather negative. I know texting is the only way to rouse any of our four sons - and some friends. But really do we need to know everything about a person's day. On facebook, people post what they had for dinner. Really? Unless it's a far out recipe, no thanks.
Cute poem - thanks for sharing.

Oh, you are singing my song, Gail!! My niece once posted on FB, "Had meatloaf tonight." I considered disowning her. I mean, come ONNN here!! Surely no one finds that interesting!
Anyway, thank you for your review of this. It was spot on! xo

A very well-written poem about the phenomenon of cell-phones. In my opinion it is just a helpful tool in emergencies when we are not close to a landline. To befriend strangers is not a good idea, stick rather to those you know.

Thanks for your nice review, Sandra. xo

Of course, here most people are friendly and supportive. The ones who are mean do not last long.

Well THAT's good to hear!!!

An interesting take on how history could be altered. I think the only tribe lost in the desert were the Jewish led by Moses. The rest know where they are as they are part of generational Nomads. Poor Norman taken out by a selfie, Nah! But Henry wouldn't know when to stop his womanizing. All in fun. Good read.

As a Landsman myself, I can tell you, Yvon, that all my relatives and I would be lost en route to every Bar or Bat Mitzvah we attended were it not for the GPS systems in our car.
Thanks for your feedback. xo

Rachel this is sooo funny... and yet so accurate! Just think... spies could have gone out and stuck cell phones to the trees on skype and just spied from the safety of the castle and known when the attackers were coming long before they had a chance to arrive. They could have planned the perfect attack on the attackers! ;)

It's so true!! For all the bad press they get, I think they CAN, in so many circumstances, make life easier! lol

You've had fun reinventing history, Rachelle... I truly feel for Norman Rockwell and so glad that Henry viii didn't get his hands on Tumblr!
This is an inventive poem... my favourite so far.

Thank you, LisaMay! Those are encouraging words that make me want to dig in and write more today. xo

Good on you! I am writing now too but trying to tell myself to go to bed because it is 2.15am here in NZ.
-
Whoa! You little night owl! I'm a four-hour-a-night sleeper, myself. It's been that way since high school.
-
We are similar in that too then. Sleeping is a waste of 'doing' time.
-
It's so true!!!

Good night now... 3.15 is late enough. I have to go to work at 8.

Oy!

Haha - this is a hoot! And so imaginative of you to think of cell phones being used throughout history.
I loved the part about the GPS in the desert. Now my head is swimming from thoughts about how history would be so different! Best Wishes, Lou

Nice job. I especially like how you brought it all together with a very funny ending.
Also, I think you hit on a clever topic - the benefits and hazards of how cell phones may have been used throughout history. Good luck in the contest.

Comment from Miss Sherry
I wondered what people would find to write about cell phones and now I know! Very interesting concepts of how different things would have been. That is a great photo to accentuate your write - a good contrast to what could have been. I really like this a lot and I wish you the best in the contest!

Thanks, Wolf Poet Sherry. It's a little "out there," but I did have some fun writing it. And that photo was just dumb luck. I didn't know what to type under "search," so tried 'Historical Photos' and this was one of two that came up. Sometimes things just work out the way you need them to, I guess.
Anyway, thank you for your nice review and the high rating. xo
