Well, there is a reason for the phrase "golden age." The retirement ages are truly the golden years of life.
In fact, a study was conducted and determined that retired people tend to be the happiest. More so than any age group.
Your poem, in its brevity, reflects that contentment.
In six years, I will be following your footsteps to the road of retirement.

Thanks for your read and your comments. In six years you may be entering the best time of your life. Of course that is up to you to take advantage of the time. Although I loved my job as an educator, to tell the truth I don't miss. I am now able to do many things I dreamed of doing. Welcome in six years to the golden age.

I believe that we older people do well depending how we spent our younger years. If you were a bitter young person, I can't help but think you'll be a bitter older person. As far as grand children, I don't how we can spend our time any better. Good luck in the contest.
