Beautiful picture, well written poem. The lesson could certainly be applied to living also. The stages of our lives are extreme changes, and we are continually growing.I didn't realize that until I looked back recently and thought of what a different person I was now than thirty years ago.

Oh, I'm so very glad you enjoyed this -- I've always thought that icicles are one of the coolest things about Winter! ;) Thanx for stopping by today -- much appreciated! ;) ;)

What a lovely lesson. Last spring, I took a picture of icicles dripping from a holly bush onto daffodils. I tried unsuccessfully to write a poem about it. Your poem is exactly what I had in mind. I knew that those dripping icicles would freeze again and lengthen again.
You read and wrote my thoughts. Nice job.

I thought it was yours. That beautiful color option is similar to what you did with the umbrellas. Looks like it is doing well. Mine is unusual. Doing ok.

Fun connection between nature, education and the wisdom received over the ages. Good motivational poem, it uses the 5-7-5 format well. I enjoyed reading it.

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the icicles in winter that form in cold conditions and it is always wonderful to see, for the scientist it is a lesson in winter's classroom.

-Very nice image and presentation.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-The syllable count is good.
-The imagery in line one is effective.
-We can picture the icicles melting,
refreezing, and growing.
-The concluding line has
a good satori like quality.
-Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for the explanation about the formation of icicles. I always like learning how some of Nature's wondrous marvels come about. It's a lovely poem.
