I knew I was going to love this one when I saw the title. it is so spot on, almost replacement code for the original. did I tell you I was a code-cracker in WWII. not true but I am good at the Cryptogram in the newspaper. this is an awesome work and no small undertaking. love it, MD..................PD.

Yeah, pretty sure that's NOT a word, but I didn't know what else to call the concoction! :) :) Glad you enjoyed it Monsieur Cryptographer -- pretty sure it's not the 'word for word' thing, but it still covers the generally same mischievous bases - lol! ;) :) Hope y'all are having pretty weather there today -- weather here sux (cold, rain, and more cold and rain). ;( Y'all send a little sunshine, would ya! ;) ;) Take care! ;) MD

Fixed, good as it's gonna get, Mike -- don't really know how that slipped through. :) This was supposed to be fun and I've got two stacks of papers calling a teacher's pen! :) ;) And, yeah, I found the fact that it was an anonymous post to be hilarious....I actually chose the poem cuz it's one that I won a school wide recitation contest with back in elementary school....I really think it was just the cute blonde in pony tails with lots of 'acting prowess' that got it!! ;) :) LOL! and stressors are the emphasis
for which I take a pill.
Now syllables can help a lot,
but they're not all there is --

Yeah -- good luck with that with no e's and a's and sticking to the original thoughts....the syllable count is as good as it gets. LOL! :) :) Thanx for pointing out the meter, though! ;) Take care up there! :)

Hahahaha! I get it, I really do, but here's the thing about counting syllables--the emphasis or stress as to be on the RIGHT syllable for a smooth flow.
The reason I say I'm not the best teacher is my background is music (which works wonderfully for poetry BUT...). There are others here who know the correct 'lingo' and how to instruct. Me? It's all instinctive because my musical 'ear' is exceptional. (If that sounds conceited, I don't mean it that way at all -- it's a gift God gave me, thanks, no doubt, to genes. I had a VERY musical family.)
But poetry? Yvette, I struggled for a while being recognized as someone who COULD write good poetry, all because I didn't 'fit' /the language of knowledgeable poets.

Yeah, I get that, but this was a fun write, Dawn, and I had fun with it...I've gone back and altered a few cases, but with the limitations, it's close to impossible at least for the time/funny money the contest is worth. Cuz I have papers that need grading and dinner to make. :);) :) Thanx for the instruction -- I don't aspire to become great, especially with a write like this one that really isn't my own from the beginning. really just did it as a challenge...sorry you think it

OH!!! I don't think that at all, Yvette!!! But if I didn't try to help, what kind of fluff reviewer would I be? I LOVE your work, or I would NOT go to the effort. I have a TON of things I need to do right now, dear one! PLEASE don't be offended! I get it if it's not so important to you-- I do. but for future, just in case, I would not be much of a friend if I didn't offer what I could. (which maybe isn't a lot, but it's honest, at least. (Read the last couple of reviews I wrote for others, and you will see what I mean by that!)
I KNOW you can do this! Stanza 1 HAS an "a" too, BTW.
Here is the PROOF you can do it: (I hope I 'got' your meaning in this stanza...)
I know this funny, tricky guy,
