This flash fiction reads more like a poem than prose with the shortened lines. I like the folksy dialectal speech and I appreciate the history lesson that there were all kinds of languages spoken long before English arrived.

I have no problem with those who come to America for a better life, and I am sure I might have well done the same had I been born in a different land. I do have a problem with those who refuse to learn the language of this nation. Language is the thing that binds us together as one. Patricia
