In our modern world we more often than not hear of the negative aspects of
cyber space so it is indeed an honour for this poet/ writer who has touched so many with his words to be remembered for the positive interactions and words he has shared and left behind in the hearts of many.
A very fine tribute indeed.
Blessings

Thank you Shirley. Your sentiments are well said.

A very well-written Tanka. In tribute of Michael whose charisma touched each and everyone even though they never meet him personally. Cyber space is the new communication tool, the way we meet people who touch our hearts.

Good morning to you, Tom
Oh, this is such a lovely Tanka poem, dedicated to the lovely Michael Cahill.
We were all touched by his cyber magic, Tom.
whether from reviews
or the treasures of his mind. -- simply perfect, my friend.

Thank you Tracey. His departure was sudden. Not sure what happened. He will be missed.

I did not know Michael Cahill was ill, and I am grateful I congratulated him on being recognized as Poet of the Month in January. I appreciate your tribute and your focus on his "gentle stroke" and "treasures of his mind". May he rest in peace- Joan

Thank you Joan. I didn't either. A big shock.

I like your tanks tribute to Michael very much. I, too, "only knew his cyber touch" in reviews and occasional messages. A very nice addition to the book being put together on FannStory. Rod

You summed it up very nicely in this poem. That was Michael to a 'T'.
Thank you for contributing to the book. It's a lovely addition. I hope we can present it to him family fairly soon.

Thank you damommy. It was very sweet of you to start it I still don't know what happened to him. I didn't know he was ill. So it was quite a shock.

I don't know what cause of death was, either, but I suspect a stroke. No one has said, though.

This is a very neat tribute to Michael and in all probability will be the only one in tanka form. The fact that the thirty-one syllable maximum is breached is not overly important. Under certain circumstances even the Japanese masters broke such rules. These circumstances i feel allow such a breach.

Thank you Jim. That first line did get a bit stretched. I had considered leaving his name off the last line line to compensate, but got distracted and forgot.

Hi there,
I was just telling my hubby last night that while my FS family only exists in cyberspace, you are all so real to me. For the past two years, I've created and managed a Christmas card list - and it is almost strange to receive a physical piece of mail from people that seem to only exist in my imagination.
Michael was always a friend and part of my cheering squad as I navigate the world of poetry. He will certainly be missed,

Hi,
This is a lovely tribute to one who has (apparently) passed beyond the mortal coil.
A very well-written piece; I cannot find a single word out of place to suggest that you might be able to improve upon.
And the lovely image you've selected compliments your verse effectively. Your friend is now soaring with the Eagles... :-)
(I did not know Michael Cahill. I've just returned to the site yesterday, following a long absence, but I gather he was one of the family here, and that he will be sorely missed.)
Thank you for sharing your poem with us. I look forward to reading more of your great work.
