Wow, this is really clever, Rod! I see that it didn't win the contest. :( I think it should have. "lace stoles and skirts of ice Winter's cover girls" ... I thought that was brilliant!

What a great contest entry! Your poem was exceptional in personifying the fir trees in a winter forest. The last line 'Winter's cover girls' was so clever. I fell in love with this line, 'in lace stoles and skirts of ice'. Beautifully written and illustrated contest entry!
