I admired another of your tribute poems (I was quite touched by your salute to Brooke.) Thank you for your send-off to Michael and acknowledging that he touched so many FanStorians. Warm regards- Joan

Thank you, Joan. I miss Michael, he was one of a kind. Brooke, too. That was so nice of you to look for them. I hope it will be a long time before we are penning another sad tribute. Thanks again. :) Sandra xx

This is a true and very concise eulogy for Michael. He did so much here.
He is probably learning more from the great masters now. Maybe even having
open mike nights there.

Thank you, Joan. He was such a nice man, and too young to die like that. So sad. I can imagine him doing all that up in the big club upstairs! LOL. :)) Sandra xxx

You're welcome. I never found out how he died. Just that he died.

No one knows for sure, but someone thought he'd had a stroke. He was recovering and sitting up, and the next news was that he had died. So sad. xx
-
Thanks for the information. It is very sad.

Hi Katharine, I'm sorry you didn't know Michael, he was a fantastic, kind, helpful man. Michael died in January, unexpectedly and years too soon, we haven't been told why, but some think he had a stroke or heart attack. My tribute is one of many on here. Thank you for reading mine, my friend. Sandra xxx

This was a good read, Sandra Mitchell. You really captured Michael's story with this piece. He was one of a kind and he will be sorely missed. Nice job of writing.

Hello Sandra,
A beautiful tribute to Michael.
I was not on FS when he first joined, but he told me he was very "raw"
and learned a great deal from the many patient and talented writers here.
He assumed that helpful role very well, himself.
I like to think of him now conversing with the great writers and musicians of the past.
Nicely done

I do remember him when he joined, you wouldn't recognise the writer he was then, lol. But, he wanted to learn and he put his heart and soul into doing so. And, as you say, he then used his newfound knowledge to help others. He was a gentleman, and FS is going to miss him. Thank you for reading, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

-Beautiful image, Sandra, and your
tribute to Michael touches my heart.
-I like how you are talking directly
to him and share the wonderful
things you remember about him.
-I didn't know him well, but I know
he was kind, caring, and was always
willing to share a helping hand.
-I think he loved FS and strived to
make it as good as he could.
-I like the sentiment in the
last lines of your tribute.

Thank you, Pam. I think his wife, Carole will be surprised at how much the FS family though of him. There wasn't a bad word ever written in any of his reviews to anyone. He was always so kind, and helpful. He came to learn, and did so brilliantly. We are losing so many talented writers now. So sad. Thanks for reading this, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

You are very welcome for the review, Sandra. I thought Gloria said his wife was Donna. I didn't know him really well, but he was always helpful and kind. People on FS are doing a really nice job with their remembrances; I think he is probably enjoying them where he is.
-
Yes, she is Donna. I was talking to my friend, Carole on the phone for an hour just before I replied. LOL. I'm doing that a lot lately. I'm getting more and more like my dear dad. He was terrible with names. :( xxxx
-
That's funny. My dad wasn't good with names, either!

This was a very nice eulogy for Michael Cahill, who was a popular and important member of the Fanstory site. He seems to have been the success story of the site, moving from beginner, to popular poet, and on to adviser and catalyst.

Such lovely sentiments sincerely expressed here to our friend Michael Cahill. He will be missed. He set an example on how to write and to politely review. So many nice tributes to him. We've lost so many good ones, since I started.

No, I can't either, Linda. It's an incredible legacy he's left behind, and I know Michael's work will continued to be read, perhaps even by people who didn't know him while he was here. I hope so, any way. Love you, too, dear friend. Don't forget to send me updates! xxxx :))
