Oh, my friend, this is a wonderful tribute to a poet who gave of himself more than he received!! He was a great mentor, though I have no doubt he shielded much of his interaction with others, as he did with me. Great stuff here!!

Yes Mike was a very generous poet and with the start of both the Potlatch Club and the Free Versers, he really challenged us to become better writers, and to enjoy our writing. Thanks for reading my free verse tribute, I felt, for me, that was the appropriate form to say thanks.

Written from the heart, and written so well, Valda. It's always sad when a fellow poet passes away; and Mikey clearly meant a lot to a lot of writers. He and I didn't cross paths much, so I didn't really know him, but I know that he was very well liked on Fanstory. "And at times you pushed the boundaries" ... I love that you made mention of this, because he never held anything back with his writes.

Written from the heart, and written so well, Valda. It's always sad when a fellow poet passes away; and Mikey clearly meant a lot to a lot of writers. He and I didn't cross paths much, so I didn't really know him, but I know that he was very well liked on Fanstory. "And at times you pushed the boundaries" ... This was a very nice eulogy for Michael Cahill, who was a popular and important member of the Fanstory site. His movements within the site have helped create and popularize many clubs to become niche meeting places for varied contributors.

I was shocked to see the news, and for me, a free verse was the way to go re he setup the Free Versers Club and

Well said, my friend :) I'm sure he is smiling at you right now. He touched us all with his encouragement to try writing in so many different styles. I remember when I tried the dreaded palindrone poetry and then came in second place on the site contest. His comment of congratulations stands out so much to me. He said somethig like, "and I thought you didn't like palindrone poetry". I was speechless about it all. I only tried it because he said I should. Your writing grows because of his encouragement. Keep going with that. You are doing great.
