Very touching tribute, dear. A glorious share that will make Mikey beam with gratitude and great-full joy to know how much he positively impacted you and all of us here on FS. I agree with all you say of him. It tickled me to hear how he quoted all those movie lines to a 'movie illiterate'. I miss him, yet I feel his presence remain with us through all these tributes. Wonderful.

Love,
rd

Good morning to you Gloria

I know from reading the forums and reviews between you and Michael, suggest a very sweet friendship that was pulled together by humor and the love of writing.

You have composed such a lovely tribute to him and your poem was a true pleasure to read.

Michael was a lover of all that was good in this world, be they human, feathered, furred or indeed stuffed; like his little rocking horse :)

What a guy...

I'm still not sure his passing is really true. It seems surreal to me that he has just vanished.

Kind regards to you, Love.
I know you two were close

Thank you so much Trimple for a lovely review. Death is like that, yes? Hard to believe even when you see it with your own eyes.

    Much appreciation always,

Just beautiful Gloria. It was obvious Mike had a special affection and admiration for you. I think it is so interesting the way some Fanstorians bond and care for each other in a unique way. I thought of you immediately when I heard Michael had died. I knew it would be especially painful for you. My sincerest sympathies. I know you'll miss him terribly. I love your story and the beautiful poem too. Thanks for sharing this.

Hello Gloria,
A beautiful tribute to the Rocking-Horse Rider.
I had one just like Michael's.
It hard to explain to someone just how you can fly in a marvelous, rocking-horse sky,
those thrilling days of yesteryear or a brand new frontier.
It's also hard to know what to say about someone who was special,
and probably didn't know just how special he was,
but you have done a splendid job.
Wishing you well, my friend

-Words are never good enough, Gloria, to
express a sense of loss, or comfort a friend.
-You wrote a heartfelt tribute to Michael,
and gave us a little insight to the kind of
person he was, especially if some of
us didn't know him quite as well.
-I like how you incorporated the quotes
from movies, and gave your reaction.
-I do recall something about the
rocking horse a number of years ago.
-The poem you wrote is a lovely remembrance,
as well as the concluding paragraph.
-He did so much for so many people on the site,
and always tried to make it a better place to be.
-His is sorely missed, but not forgotten.
-Take care, my friend.

Mike used his rockinghorse picture quite a few times in his autobiographical posts but I don't figure it's good policy to use a personal photograph without receiving permission from the owner. Thank you so much for a beautiful review and exceptional rating Pam. :)

You are very welcome and deserving of the review and exceptional rating, Gloria. It's the least any of us can do is support each other in our own way. I just vaguely remember him writing something about the rocking horse quite a while ago.

This was a very nice eulogy for Michael Cahill, who was a popular and important member of the Fanstory site. You have captured a side to him that many can either relate to, or discover, as his loss is pondered.

This is a beautiful tribute, Gloria, for which I suspect Michael is smiling in heaven. It exudes love and gratitude, and I'm grateful for the charming anecdotes about a person I knew only through his work, the footprint he left on FanStory, and an exchange of reviews and comments. I'm sorry I hadn't had the chance to know him better, but I'm happy for you that you did.

Thanks, Gloria. As I said, I didn't really know Michael, but I did know that his name was on the winners' lists an extraordinary number of times. It will be odd not to see his name. I've read the tributes from others besides yourself. He does seem to have been a very special man who will be sorely missed.
