You managed to say a lot in this little poem, and to conjure up memories that nearly everyone has of seeing "that" look across a crowded room. And along with the relevant artwork, it makes a nice presentation. Good luck with the contest.

You did a good job conveying a thought and scene for the reader. You did this in three lines and nine syllables, not an easy task. I think most have at one time or other experienced the gaze across the room, whether imagined or real. Thank you for sharing.
