I'm not sure how well this will fare when presented before the committee. The prompt calls for having nothing in common except the focus. I would venture the parents probably have a lot more in common than just the daughter, the setting, and a life where they knew each other pretty well.
It's well written but I think both perspectives are very similar in content, too.

This is a good duo dribble. You did a good job coveting separate thoughts with the same focus. Mom's focus and Dad's focus both on daughter and her future, but different thoughts from the past. Thank you for sharing.
