I never got to review this, but I usually check out your work. This is really good. It should have won. I like the forging the new path part and the photo. You are still rolling the good ones out. I bet that they just come to you while you are teaching or something..
Stay warm.

Thanx for the review on this one, ma'am -- it was one that really was a 'stress relief' exercise that evening....hmmmm, wonder if I was thinking about a new path...LOL! :) ;) I do so much appreciated you rummaging through my closet -- always a seat on the front porch while you rummage...LOL! :) ;) Take care, MQ -- I don't know what I'd do without your support! :) ;) Yvette

A good and appropriate advice for any "season" in one's life but particularly in the beginning of a new year. A path "made by you" gives authenticity and opens the eyes to see wider horizons.

Good work on syllable count. I like the fortune telling aspect of this poem, suggestion that doing something different has to start with ourselves in order to get out of a rut. Well said and a lovely image to go with it. Enjoyable read.

I really enjoy reading and re-reading this piece. Such a reminder that the known, although offering some degree of comfort, is not always the best choice.
Being strong enough to choose the unknown is a process.
Best wishes in the contest:)

Ciao mystery poet!
I gave you your second vote because I found your poem enlightening.
Going with the flow is no doubt a more secure choice of life ..yet there is nothing more fulfilling than pursuing one dreams.
I'm not sure if this was your message but that's how I interpreted your poem .
You also did a great job putting the lines in rhyme!
I hope you do well in the contest!

Ooh I like this - something in it speaks to my soul, I like the picture that is accompanying the poem. Stuck in Customs did a nice job they deserve some kudos here too. Great 30 Syllables for the writing prompt. Good luck in the contest. Cheers, Fonda

Wow, there's a lot implied in just thirty syllables. What a great poem. No pun intended, but my imagination could take this in several different directions. You chose some lovely artwork too. Best of luck in the contest!
