Wonderful explanation with terrific imagery about the Tomatina festival, I enjoyed reading it. I like the rhythm in the last line. Very fluid (ha ha). Good work on the syllable count.

The picture accompanying this poem really helps to brighten the picture of what's happening. Your poem has a nice flow even within the constraints of 5-7-5 syllables. The last line of the poem makes me smile. Good luck in the contest.

Great prompt and a wonderful choice of 'holiday' on your part. I have heard of this one before, but it is suitably obscure and deserves sharing more widely.
What a lot of fun it would be to be able to legally hurl vegetables at each other. The August timing would ensure there is plenty of ammunition available. I'm thinking the participants would deliberately choose older and over-ripe tomatoes!
