Wonderful explanation with terrific imagery about the Tomatina festival, I enjoyed reading it. I like the rhythm in the last line. Very fluid (ha ha). Good work on the syllable count.

The picture accompanying this poem really helps to brighten the picture of what's happening. Your poem has a nice flow even within the constraints of 5-7-5 syllables. The last line of the poem makes me smile. Good luck in the contest.

Beautiful presentation in artwork, red colored background, skin colored font.
Love the boldness and size of the font.
Love your words, 'people pasta, extra sauce'.
Thank you for the author notes. I appreciated the location, history, and info about the holiday and festivities. (I wanna go :)

I've heard of this annual food fight before! You've made a great entry to the contest with it by likening the resultant mess of people and tomatoes to a seething mass of spaghetti bolognaise! Original!

Great prompt and a wonderful choice of 'holiday' on your part. I have heard of this one before, but it is suitably obscure and deserves sharing more widely.
What a lot of fun it would be to be able to legally hurl vegetables at each other. The August timing would ensure there is plenty of ammunition available. I'm thinking the participants would deliberately choose older and over-ripe tomatoes!
Love the last line. Good luck.
