OK, that was funny because I instantly related to it. But the last line, that was hysterical.
The reason it was funny because just the other day, I was at a party and somebody whipped out their phone and started showing pictures of the fish they caught. I am myself caught a fish once ... On a fifth grade trip.

You made my evening. Thanks. Fish people can be evangelical in their enthusiasm and seem to ignore the fact that my eyes close when they drone on! What if hell were that you would be at a dinner party, a vegan dinner party, a Baptist no-booze vegan dinner party, and you were seated between a fisherman and a big truck driver... Behave yourself in case I'm right.

Oh, do I agree with the Speaker's assessment of fishing in all stanzas right up till last, but I would prefer to stay home with the wife. This story poem made me chuckle on a frigid day when even the most devout fisherman only DREAMS of going fishing. Rod

Making you chuckle makes my day! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks. Sorry about your weather. Here near Houston, we will golf today. There is a reason I play golf and don't fish: on the rare occasion that I get a "birdie", I don't have to clean it.

Now I can easily see your point there. One can?t see the holes here as we?ve got snow, too. Have a great round. Rod

Oh, that's cruel. . . but oh so funny. So that's why men love to fish so much. Getting away from the wife is the peace and quiet they talk about?
Makes sense to me. Personally, I love the peace and quiet of an empty house while everyone has gone fishing or whatever. I love the peace and quiet, but I don't think that I would fish to get it. Too boring and yucky.
I love your poem. Started my day off just right.

Making somebody smile starts my day just right, too! Thanks. Among the great quotes from Barbara Bush: "You know what they say: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you can get rid of him most weekends."

You did it again. I'm smiling. I didn't know Barbara had such a great sense of humor.
