Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

We tend to judge people by their status ....a doctor is more worthy of our praise cause he saves lives per example .. God does not judge his children like that.

Those that do community work to help out those less fortunate ...their work is as important as the doctor 's who saves lives to God.

God is happy if we all do our part within our limits ...he designed us in his loving image ..

Even helping an elderly cross the road does not go un-noticed by God and it makes him rejoice .

Even the smallest good willed gesture towards someone will make this world a better place.

It might seem insignificant but we all know that the ocean is made up of an infinite amount of drops of water.
Each good deed we do is one of those drops..

If we see the world through caring loving eyes our actions will follow accordingly.

A poem has many interpretation and this is mine.

I thought your poem was beautiful . Your phrasing is powerful .. You know how to put your thoughts down in a very touching way.

The picture reflects God's essence ..
Beauty, tranquility, harmony.

Obviously we feel a connection with God in such a paradisiacal place.

I can't believe that no one gave you a sixer.

I enjoyed reading your review for a couple of reasons reasons: because your opinions about God and life echo my own... about not categorising people, about good-willed people, and about "God's essence .. Beauty, tranquility, harmony."
Also I am overjoyed that you gave me a 6 star rating. When I wrote the poem it was so from my heart that I knew instinctively that it was good. I certainly hoped that other people would see its value, then you stepped up .... thank you. xx (maybe other reviewers had used up all their 6-stars by being generous-minded to other writers.)

I'm so happy you found common ground reading my thoughts ..sometimes I go on these long rants ..I'm Italian ..we are very passionate and we love talking about matters that touch us

Personally when I read a piece that overwhelms me I wait till I have a six to vote it ..but that's me (biggrin).

    Your poem was exceptional LisaMay.
I'm glad our paths met. (smile)

So glad to meet you too! I have a very big grin on my face right now. I like passionate people who feel things deeply and I especially like people who only review when they have a six!!

Good layout and consistency throughout the poem. I like the different examples followed by the effect upon yourself. I think it fits the spiritual topic well. Enjoyed reading it. Sorry no fixes to suggest.

Thanks Dolly... I do enjoy writing about how I find such comfort in the natural world.... though there is so much to be upset about how other people don't respect nature and despoil the environment.

Beautiful way to describe worship. I love the way that you show us the worship of the trees raising up their branch arms and the music of the river and ending with the sense of God's presence walking with you.

It is so lovely to read a spiritual poem that doesn't directly tug at the image of "God". You manage your words very well to construct clear images. I love your poem! Thank you for sharing!

Kisses to you for appreciating my poem. I started it today and it just flowed out of me, so I must have been feeling the spirit within. (It was also a nice day and I was sitting in my window seat with a lovely view across the valley)

Good evening, Lisa

Lovely to see this poem in my inbox.

I am not a religious person, however, I found this poem to be akin to how I also view the natural world around me and my place within it.

All three free verse stanzas lend beautifully to your views on where you feel most comfortable as one would say, walk through woodland with the veins of a river running through
its heart.

A fine contender for the competition and I wish you well in the booths.

kind regards

tracey

We are on the same page as they say, about how we fit with the natural world. Thanks for your good wishes Tracey.

What a delicious blast from the past. I adore Leonard Cohen and Jennifer Warnes. And that Proms performance is just stunningly, achingly beautiful. It always gives me chills anyway, the Joan of Arc story getting burned at the stake such a horrible death, and Leonard's lyrics obscure and imaginative to the point of exquisite delirium for me.
Thanks for putting something lovely into my evening. I have to go and visit a sick friend in hospital now, but i feel fortified. xx

Indeed, Lisa, Leonard had a way with words that were almost otherworldly. J.Warnes lends such gravitas to this most beautiful song.

I hope that your friend will be up and about and enjoying all the little things in life again soon.

    much love

I like how you put this poem of flowing with the music. It feels spiritual and right to the point of how a person feels with music around him. I think this is good. Good work! Good luck in the contest!

Thanks for your encouraging words. You refer to the pace accelerating... apart from "I throb with life", I thought I was slowing the pace down.... trying to refer to end of life.

I was talking middle, could be me anticipating the conclusion.
