More than being embarrassed by our nation's leaders childish behavior is how saddened I am this government shutdown is hurting so many hard working Americans who live from paycheck to paycheck.
The wealthy bureaucrats in Washington couldn't possibly understand what they're going through--evictions, repossessions, unable to pay for child care so they can get to work.
One such bureaucrat on the news just said, "I'm sickened by the fact so many TSA workers have called off putting our national security and its citizens in dire jeopardy."
Really!
Perhaps HE would like to go over and babysit their children for free so they can!

Thank you for your review. I am so honored you've taken time to read my humble work and comment so much. I didn't use any pictures. It only pays .02, I hope you got pumps? I'd love your opinion on my good people and shut down poems , their themes are related. If only we could shut off their pay?

    Thanks again.

HELLO RICKIE1: Your last stanza here is light...and shines like a super nova. "Play nice children...or you both will lose more than a ball." This is an extremely clever child admonishment. Our Holy Bible advises us to: "Train children how to live right, and when they are old, they will not change." PROVERBS chapter 22: and at verse 6. Thank you for sharing. You are appreciated. God bless you and yours, Rickie1. Cordially: rhonnie69.

Yes they're acting like spoiled children and your poem is the perfect metaphor
for our politicians. I hope they grow up soon before the country is ruined.
Yours is a great free verse with a lot of meaning behind it.
Thanks for sharing.

Well said Ricky - our country is the laughing stock on the entire planet - by these childish rich politicians that have divided this nation and the laws don't affect them - no accountability for the lies - the debt - all the wasted tax dollars - and now even selling out their own people to foreign interest - pathetic - I give you a 6 for speaking up - Ron

Pitiful, ain't it?
You have a creative and imaginative expose on the world of 'adults' who never grew up. I imagine that if one looked at the 'players' as children he'd find that the tactics still used are plays that they have always subscribed to for getting what they want: temper tantrums.
Some folks never grow up.

I knew--before I read the notes--that this poem was about more than bratty
kids! LOL! When I turn on the news, I cringe--wondering what will next be sailing
from the mouths of our leaders. I'm sure furloughed workers and refugees are more bummed out about things than I am. I enjoyed your poem!

A good write. We need cooperation of all involved to solve some major problems in our country. These people are supposed to be working for us. We desperately need 2 only term limits. Our forefathers never meant politics to be a lifetime job. Let them serve their two terms and go back home to earn a honest living. Maybe then we could get something done. Marilyn

A very well-written poem about how politicians are playing with a precious ball that may fall and break into many pieces. Unfotunately, in my humble opinion I believe that pres. Trump plays the ball to protect his team and its players, the USA for their own well-being, not for his own pocket.

Thank you for your review. I liked the image of kids fighting over a ball. I actually had the image in my mind before I started writing. Usually I have an idea I start to write with first.
