A lovely 5/7/5 poem for the contest.
I appreciated the notes and explanation of the Life-saver plant. Certainly in a natural oddity.

Well done and good luck in the contest.
Blessings

Oh wow, oh wow! I LOVE this 5-7-5 poem. I not only learned something to add to my collection of odd flowers (I have a book about strange orchids), but the poem itself is s-w-e-e-t! (Yes,pun intended too. LOL)

Isn't that just the strangest thing!? :) :) I took one look at it and just knew that had to be my 'flower focus' - LOL! :) :) It comes in all 'shades' of red from the bright here to a much more 'chocolate' red which looks like a chocolate doughnut on a fancy plate! :) :) Thanx again for the wonderful review, ma'am -- take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the wild-cherry life-saver plant that reminds of the kife-saver candy. It is indeed a beautiful and rare plant which I did not see in real life before.

What an interesting flower you've chosen, Anonymous Poet.
I have never seen nor heard of this plant before now, after reading your 5-7-5 entry.
They look a lot like a chocolate doughnut sitting on a star shaped napkin.
Or maybe I'm just hungry.
Best of luck to you in the contest.

It's really weird, huh? And, you are SO right on the doughnut....especially given the fact that the 'reddish' shade comes in everything from a bright, cherry red to a chocolate red which looks just like your doughnut! :) :) So glad you enjoyed -- and interesting? Oh, yeah, you know this anonymous poet over here -- gotta go for the unique!! :) :) Take care! :)

I thought the Corpse Flower was strange.
But this one takes the cake (or the doughnut, as the case might be, lol).
    Good luck!

Well, that is certainly different! Thank you for the botanical explanation as I have never heard of it let alone seen it...I thought you must have handcrafted it as a Christmas decoration.
I liked how you flowed the poem on after that terrific opening line.

added enjoyment is seeing something that you did not know existed in nature

your text and illustration complement each other 'wholly' LOL

not quite sure if your 'wild-cherry' needs to be in caps or hyphenated - you will know why you did

check out the internet for how your 'LifeSavers' should be shown; possibly you really wanted to say "... 'life saver' plant"

best wishes in this prompt entry

Thank you for the review, Mark - I removed the hyphen, was definitely a typo. It is capitalized because it is the named flavor. Lifesaver plant is one word just like the candy since that's is namesake (see botanical explanation in author notes)... I simply wrote it like the candy is spelled. :)

I will never not be in favor of surprise Candy. The 5-7-5 form is quite useful for conveying surprise, and you made the best of that. Now, excuse me, its time to go and get something sweet. If my wife yells, I am blaming you.

This plant is startling...have never seen one before. What a rarity! I love the gem you have made of this. I would love to see one in person. Thank you for educating us on this pretty thing. If I had a yard, I would get one.

That is sure some weird cherry flower plant. I like your poem. It's easy to read and I understand it. No grammatical errors. Thanks for sharing! Good luck in the contest!

What would you suggest needs to be corrected, Raul? A four- star means there are things that need to be fixed, although you do not specify them. Thank you so much for the clarification. ;)

Excellent job on showcasing this unique and odd flower.... it is so pretty with the dark red ring that really does look like a lifesaver. Good luck in the competition with this one.
