It is so nice to be able to see that you were able to get intouch with the innocent side of yourself and tell a story from the child in you... great job and looking forward. yours, diana

I still like lace curtains. This is quite a story. What amazing memories, especially the baking bread. I worked across the street from a bakery. They started frying donuts about 4 p.m. This was before air conditioning, so you can imagine the effect of frying donuts on tummies getting ready for their evening meal. Watching the sky, clouds, night birds. Wow. Nice. Good job.

Everyone has some bad in their lives. You must have had a preponderance of good in yours to have had what seems to be such pleasant memories.

I have been lucky for the most part.

Ability helps, but luck is good.

Sounds absolutely idyllic - a feast for practically all of the senses in that childhood home - and sleeping under the stars to booth ! - well portrayed - nice pic

Hello Mystery Writer,
How I wish I had six stars for this memorable childhood poem! I was with you from the very start. Keen visual imagery that gave way to equally keen emotive imagery. I wouldn't trade those memories, either, if they were mine. Beautiful rendering!
Best Wishes!

You painted a very vivid and wonderful place for a child to live. Smelling fresh bread each morning. What a pleasant scent to wake up to. The rollway beds on the porch and the open sky to view at night. It must have been like camping all summer.
