Thanks for this personal info. It's good to get to know you better. Good for you for quitting smoking. I don't think anyone can have a flattering pictures taken of them while getting pulled from a wrecked car. I am glad you saved the cat though.

Thank you, Joan, it was a scary moment when I drove into the ditch. You couldn't see one there, it was covered in long grass. Yes, the cat was fine! LOL, :)) Sandra xx

You are so kindly welcome.

Hi, Sandra,
Such amazing things to learn about you! I'm so glad your Mum marched you back into that store. Otherwise, you may have become a hard-core criminal with no time to write your wonderful stories.
I think the lie is that you married your widowed brother-in-law.
Thank you for posting,

I was so scared when my mum took me back. I never forgot it. She did a good thing, I could understand that years later, but not at the time! lol. The lie was my drowning. I'm going to write about the other two to go into my 'Book for my Boys.' They will get it after I've gone! lol. Thanks, Patty. :)) Sandra xx

Sandra,
YAY! I'm so glad you decided to participate -- how else would I have learned all these fascinating about you?? hahaha
This was sooo fun. When I was 12 or so I got caught shoplifting model car paint, of all things!, and had to go apologize to the store owner. I've never stolen anything again. Mortifying!
As for the lie - I think it's the hitchhiking story. How'd I do?
Thanks again!

Sorry, Robyn, it was my brother-in-law, but the story is coming up soon, so you'll get to read about it. It's quite a sad story in parts. I did hitch-hike from Switzerland, and I'm going to write about that too. They are going into a book I've been writing for my sons.
The stealing from Woolworth's when I was a youngster was awful. I had to own up to my mother and she frog marched me back to apologise and hand it back. I'll tell more about that too. Goodness knows what my sons will think of their 'angelic' mum! lol when they get to read all about me. lol. Thanks Robyn.
I'm really surprised at how many of us owned up to being tiny thieves! LOL :)) Sandra xxx

You were right, Diana. I'm going to write about it so you can read the story. We were both widowed. Losing a brother and sister to cancer. Our getting together took many years to get there. The drowning was the lie. I'm going to write about my hitch-hiking too. Thanks for reading, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Hi,
Recently I was told that my reviewing basically sucks. So this week,
this is my review. I'm taking a survey... Would you rather:
A: Have a true review
B: Have a certain 5-star generic review
Choose wisely and be sure of your choice so I can save myself the
needless time and tears over those who don't want to hear them.
I'll make a list.
And remember... LEARNING IS EARNING!

Hi Sandra! Shame on you!!! Only 6? lol I was at least twice your age... and in Woolworths too! LOL But my friend and I were caught, 'with our hands in the cookie jar' so to speak. Her parents had to come pick us up from the manager's office because mine were both working. He wanted to hear from one of mine by 5pm or else... who to tell? Mom's always the obvious choice given that it's always Dad's hand coming down on my bum so... Mom comes home from work... from Almacs, as a store detective... lol stuck my butt in that car and took me right back to that manager and made me apologize AGAIN! I was grounded for the longest 6 weeks of my life. LOL

It's a terrifying experience, isn't it? It was the best lesson I could have learnt. I wasn't allowed out for ages either, and I was the only one punished. Thanks, Susan, reading my reviews, there were a lot of little gangsters around back in those days. LOL! :) xx

I married an alien!! lol, and I'm an alien too, but don't tell anyone. LOL. I promised Brian before he died that I would, it was a promise I had to keep, and did. I'm going to really enjoy reading your answers! I'll be writing some short stories about some of the things I've mentioned here, basically to put in the book I've been writing over the years for my sons to read when I'm gone. My hitch-hiking trip had some funny and frightening parts and some pretty amazing things too. Thanks my dear friend, start writing now, Okay? Lot's of love and masses of hugs! :)) Sandra xxx

It's easy, just click on the Multi-Author Book at the bottom on any of these entrants pages and you will go straight to it. Copy and paste the questions and answers into it, then delete the answers and put yours in. It's fun too. Make sure you put Quiz 6 in the title with your name. That's it! Have a go. Thanks for reading mine. The lie was C, I'll be writing the story of the other two shortly. :)) Sandra x

I would say (3. a) is the lie because when I think of hitchhiking I think of crossing land. You could get as far as Belgium but I'd find it difficult to hitchhike across the North Atlantic or North Sea. Anyway, this quiz is new to me, but I enjoyed it. Got the old ticker ticking answering questions.

I did hitch hike from Zurich to Calais, then crossed the channel to Dover and hitch hiked home down in Southampton. I will write about my crossing the English Channel later. :)) You should join in, it is just a bit of fun. :)) Big hugs, my friend. xx

Wow! You're a lot braver than I am to hitchhike. I'd love to read about your crossing the English Channel! : )

Hi Sandra, I'll post one of these tomorrow.
1. Interesting. Good choice. Based on your book, I'd say it's a good bet that you already have.
2. Bet you never stole again either.
3. I'd quest No 2, marrying the widowed brother-in-law.
4. Good for quitting smoking. I quit cold-turkey in 1995, but never made the paper on it.
5. Oh our painful youth! At least you tried and learned something about yourself.
Bravo, good job.

You quit just a few years after I did. 1988. I only made the paper because I'd joined a group that told you the best ways to go about it. I went once, took all the information away with me, not quite believing, but did as it suggested and it worked.
I learnt a lot in my childhood, my mother made sure I learnt from every mistake, and didn't forget what the consequences could bring. I have a lot to be thankful for, she also taught me that to correct a child doesn't mean you don't love them, it's because you do. I miss her and her wisdom a lot. I'll look forward to reading yours. :)) Sandra xx

This is an interesting write. You gave up smoking without gum or patches? That must have been very hard. Did you gain a lot of wait? I'm asking because I'm trying to quit. It's been almost 2 months with patches. It seems like all I do is eat so I'm so afraid I'm going to be 1000 pounds before long. Do you have advice? I think B is a lie.

Hi, I had to laugh at the thought of you putting on 1000 pounds. Yes, I did for a while, but then I had a chat to myself. Why did I want to eat? It was just something to do with my hands. Without a ciggy between my fingers, they went haywire, lol. I then started finding things to keep my fingers occupied. There are loads of hobbies out there. I made my own jigsaw puzzles. Great fun. That wasn't for long, and I found I never thought of food or ciggies again. Well, I did continue to eat, but the way I used to before the craving. It's your brain fighting with you. You have to let it know you are the boss. Now my fingers are busy on here. Just keep your hands moving, or shove them in water!! You will find your own way, just don't let it win. Not after 2 months, that is so good! Well done. Oh, another thing I'd do was window shop. I couldn't smoke or eat in department stores. Keep it up and let me know how you get on. :)) Sandra. Oh, C was the lie. I'll be writing about A and B soon. xxx
