The second last stanza was an absolute stand out. Round of applause. Your entire poem eludes to a renewal or an operation to remove a sign of aging perhaps. The restoration of sight? A cataract removal? It reminds me of the time I underwent LASIK eye surgery to restore my myopia. I was in absolute wonderment and joy at the colours of the world around me. Exquisite. J

-A good topic, effective imagery, and rhyme.
-A smooth flow to the poem, as well.
-I like the image "tragedy of time."
-A good theme about finding serenity
and peace of mind.
-My favorite verse is the one about
"the teaching of the muse."
-I like the positive outcome in the closing verse.

When one opens oneself to understanding, a profound amount of enlightenment can and will pour down upon that one and he becomes a learned individual. Unshakable in his ability to walk the Earth as nobility. I love your wonderful and exquisite use of language, the wonderful way you manipulate words to form and express lucid thoughts. You sir, are quite good at your craft.

I read this poem following the reading and reviewing of one about starvation in Stalinist Russia. Americans living in the past 100 years have had an unequaled experience of prosperity and security despite having expended millions of lives in the pursuit of L, L, and H. It is our civilization that provides us with the environment of advancement. Civilization has always been at the core of reflection and communication, and the effort to make sense of an existence simultaneously so wonderful and cruel.
