Poem carries me back to 'those days' and describes perfectly our
initial fear when doing something for the first time, but after braving
ourselves, coaxing each other and seeing how much fun all were
having we plucked up courage to go for our first ride and then couldn't
get enough of the, in this case, toboggan ride, such fun!
Same goes when taking our first real dive into a pool of water, but thrilled
we did it!

I see this anxiety change to excitement every time my child tries something new. You basically described a 1 hour ordeal in a twenty word, five line poem. You also make the reader feel what is going on in the poem. Good luck with your entry, I am sure you will do well.
