We visited this site years ago and have a small, stone replica of Crazy Horse. Thank you for use of his quotation in your compelling Sapphonic Triad. We have so much to be ashamed of in our history. Sighs- Joan

Thank you so much Vance. Always hap pry to hear from you. Happy New Year. Always happy to share a poetic format too. I appreciate the comments, review, and those 6 stars. Can't believe you still have one this late in the week.
Comment from Pantygynt
Carol will love you for this one, and indeed I too am most impressed by it. Parts two and three of this triad complement so neatly Crazy Horse's quotation that makes up the first part.

Thank you Pantygynt. I found from my previous notes last June, that it is Sapphonic due to the short 4 syllable lines, The note reads, "It is called Sapphonic due to its similarity to the female, ancient Greek poet Sappho, who was famous for her clever, short poetic works.."
The reason I asked, is because A Sapphonic Verse is typically a longer Quatrain, except that last line is a signature shortened 4 syllable line. I didn't see that in this. But now I understand.
I posted a poem back then called The Fear about our elections.

Thank you I'll pass that on to Carol as she couldn't remember either.

I reviewed one earlier this week, but I can't remember who. but that's what inspired this one

A very well-written Sapphonic triad. The situation you described in your author notes is more or less what is busy happening here in South Africa, the black leaders here claim that the white settlers that stole their land more than three hundered years ago and now they want to steal our property which we paid for back for themselves without compensation.

Thank you Sandra, Seems like the world is a mess everywhere. Everybody wants something for nothing now a days. We have thousands wanting to crash our southern border and have free welfare.

We can't blame Crazy Horse for wanting to keep his land the way it should be. They lived for thousands of years looking after the planet, while in a few short hundred years we have come very close to destroying it. But that is the way of the white man, the so called superior race. Oh dear, progress can sometimes be devastating. Your poem is another very thought inspiring piece, well done my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra. I totally agree. What we did to the first inhabitants is truly tragic.

I cannot find fault in Crazy Horse and what he did to try to preserve his native lands. I like this format and you present it well along with your notes on some of the history. Patricia

A very thought provoking point well made. The land is not and should not be for sale yet this is exactly what happened...I like crazy horse and his statement a d wish more people thought like that in the beginning.
