it is difficult to read dull, boring content and stay awake while doing so. A piece can be silly, confusing, etc. But it must not be boring. If it is boring, I guaranteeing to you that I will either go to sleep or just stop reading it altogether. Let that be a warning.

I believe this was written by Ned. It's too much for me to understand. I am disturbed by my niece's son and daughter. They're in high school, but don't seem to have any interest in such things as reading and writing. They're making good grades and the boy's looking forward to getting into university next year. The path for them seems to be volunteer work and getting an athletic scholarship. That's just the way it is now. Not encouraging. I do believe many reviewers on the site are careful readers--but not all. judi

I get the impression you're upset about people too lazy to read long works. {Got that impression from the last few posts.) I hope you know not all of us are like that, and I certainly appreciate much of your work, Bill. Those who don't appreciate you aren't worth wasting your time on.

Thanks, Brenda. I guess that's true; didn't realize I was creating a theme.

It's often in those unexpected themes we find great inspiration. I have no doubt you will.

Hi Bill, I know you're taking the mickey, and that is okay. But I must say I would like to see some real writing from you soon. Good fun and all that but hey, I want some poetry. And if you should wonder, I haven't lost my sense of humour if that's what you thought. All best. Ulla:))

My plan for 2019 is to write two-a-days for as long as possible. I dropped those 5-7-5s yesterday; try to produce a scene or two, a short story or two, or a novel chapter or a combination today.
Happy New Year.

Sounds good, Happy New year to you as well!!

Is this a serious thing? Oh, well, it made for funny reading and the artwork is precious. Always so enjoy your writes.

Ahhhh, yes, the wisdom stated in a seemingly nonsensical 5-7-5....and so true! Hard to draw/keep attention to short stories of any length....think that's why so many stick to poems as they know they'll get lots of reads/reviews...not so much for prose unless you have really dedicated fans. ;) ;) And even then...well...;) ;) LOL! LOL ! ;) ;) Yvette

Flask fiction is the new standard, with chapters in novels becoming tighter and more gears to self-relay reading than the marathon.
Comment from Dolly'sPoems
I have never heard this abbreviated like this before! But you hit the spot! Some writers do post long scripts and wading through it can be tedious if it is not well written, and yet they probably took hours writing it! He he he, love Dolly x

Thanks, Dolly. There are some great storytellers here, but the politics of writing shorter chapters or condensing short stories is part of the process. Happy days.

Another clever poem by Mr. Schott. I was glad to have the explanation as I did not know what TL;DR meant. The poem is humorous. Well done!

Uh...did we celebrate New Years a bit too much? LOL! This is hysterical! Even the artwork has me rolling on the floor. How many rite, right, write are there? I want to pick that poor kitten up and cuddle it. Think it accidentally got in the punch. Am I supposed to add an extra syllable count to the "but't's?" Doesn't matter...my tongue is now tied in knots!
