Very nice piece of writing. I love how you ended each verse with "where did you go?"
Really good job with the rhyme scheme too. Good luck in the contest. Well done!!

The mirror sees the passing of time not the jewel that hide within your heart. That girl, then a mother, lives in the heart of your loved ones. She is the one that makes nations come to rise as well as fought over. She is Helen, Venus and Helga rolled up in one. But she is beautiful to behold. This is a good entry for the Mirror poem.

Dear Friend, Thank you for your review and the lovely comments. Thanks also for the five stars. You are correct in saying that the eyes of love see only the inner beauty of the person before them. Not the aging figure of seventy summers (or more) cheers Cass

Even as a guy who never thought much about his looks, it is sad to see how that poor creature in the mirror rolls downhill over the years. This looks excellent for that prompt.

Dear LIJ Red, thank you for your review and the five stars. I am saddened to learn that you feel you have deteriorated with the passage of the years. Never mind, with age comes wisdom. At least I know a lot more than I did when I was young. And the blessing of it is , my son and his children do ask my advice from time to time. And wonder of wonders, they have actually followed it more than once..To a satisfactory outcome too. cheers Cass

This is a lovely, poignant poem about identity and aging. We see
our images in the mirror, remember . . . and think of how quickly
time took our youth.

Dear Janice, thank you for your review and the five stars. The things of youth vanish from view so swiftly, leaving only memories. cheers Cass

Love this. I wonder myself when I look in the mirror, but I am content at 60 for some reason. Aging doesn't frighten me as much as it used to. Your poem speaks for so many of us and beautiful visual to match. The rhyme and consistent beat is spot on. If anything, you might have made it longer as SO much affects us as we age and you really have a lovely way with creativity and rhyme. Great job and good luck!

Dear Wendy, Thank you for your review and the five stars. I am within hailing distance of 80 now , having turned 78 in September, so I am resigned to the passage of Time. It doesn't frighten me, but I hope that when my time comes I will have done everything I was put here to do. Now I live a quiet, peaceful life, being kind and considerate to me. It's my turn now. cheers Cass

Mirror Poem - Biographical: The poet found a superb picture to illustrate "Mirrored" Memories. Using a simple rhyme scheme the poet tells us the young girl's face was the same as the writer. Life happened. Now the young girl's face is a memory. The poet has picked up on a common happening in all our lives. Life happens, years pass, the face in the mirror changes. I like that last line "I miss you girl. Where did you go? Poignant poem flows well. Extremely good job.

A creative poem for the Mirror contest. I loved the repeating line as I often wonder that myself when I look in the mirror. Where did she go?

Well done.

Blessings
