Dear poet...

Nonets have always intrigued and challenged me. However I also enjoy feasting upon nonets that fall onto my dinner table. Like tonight.

My rules...

1. The poet must not only be able to tap table or knee to 9, but must also be able to handle the recessive numerology down to one.

2. The poet must also have a point. Oh, sure you poets blather numerically but is there any sense relayed? Anywhere? 'Tis imperative.

3. Presentation is the only way to pull off this obscure poetry form.

I like to review nonets for the reasons above. But then I READ the poem bereft of binding rules.

This be a solid progression of thought, poet. Within the confines you have excelled.

Well done.

Wow, I never thought this little piece would see a sixer and here it's gotten a couple now. Thank you so much for the fantastic review, Lynda. Yes, some folks think you can just meet the required syllable count and that's it. A lot of work actually goes into pulling off a nonnet artistically. I dearly appreciate the excellent review, L. Thank you again. Have a great new year.

Absolute perfection! I'm angry that I do not have a six star :( to give you because you truly deserve it.
So beautifully illustrated, with a great color choice for the background to your poem.
The poem, itself, is what excites me. I know 'excites' is a strong word, but I felt a strong pull, drawing me into the poem. Your words made me ponder, contemplate, picture and dream. That makes a really good poem!
I really love this, and truly wish you all the best in the contest. This is a great entry!!

Wow, thank you so much for the fantastic review and six offer, Gale. Yeah, I went a couple different ways with the color but decided light green was the best match. I dearly appreciate the gracious stars and good luck wishes. I'm glad you liked the piece. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

There is power in written and spoken words and your poem expresses such power. I enjoyed reading it and your artwork choice goes nicely with your message. Your ending is profoundly written and your poem in its entirety makes me think and appreciate the art of poetry. Best wishes and have fun bringing in the New Year.
