A very well-written poem about a phobia for a tiny spider with eight legs while the human has two big feet and two hands to crunch him into nothingness but they are rather scared than to destroy their fear.

Those creepy little creatures can certainly stir us into action or freeze us with fright! I know the feeling which is well expressed here, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Sometimes, all on a sudden, deep fear feeling at petrification by the tiny bound your head and you get collapsed; well said, well done. Keep Writing, Keep Inspiring. Happy New Year! -- DR ALCREATOR

Wow - I am now even more scared of spiders than I have already been. Great combination of picture and the feelings conveyed in the text. Definitely a phobia that I share.

People still jump on chairs when they see bugs and spiders - definitely descriptive ditty of a phobia.
I still don't like wasps buzzing near me.
Good Luck in the contest and may God Bless you.

I share the poet's dislike of eight-legged possibilities -- usually spiders, but ticks also appear from time to time. Spouses who get out in the brush do tend to bring them in. Amazing how "the black dot" brings our focus upon it instantaneously. I had a cat with a penchant for making me aware of these moving black dots by sitting and chattering at them with a special voice. I've found hair spray can usually immobilize them to where they will fall and I can dispose of them and their bodies. It will even slow flies down to where they are easier to kill. The poet chose a perfect picture. I know that feeling well. Good job with this poem.

Yikes, I am with you. I have a phobia of spiders and other creepy crawly.

You described these eight-legged creatures so well.

I love the build-up in the poem, which later led to that ole creepy spider.

Good luck in the contest.

This is very entertaining. It's funny, my eye Dr. worries about my peripheral vision, but as the speaker in this poem, no matter where that little black dot is, I see it moving. I tell it it cannot be that close to me. Or some are too big to be in a house. But I am, among a whisperer of other creatures, a spider whisper. I like having them in my proximity as the Native American medicine card gift they give to me is creativity. I seem to write better when they are around. By fear blocks that part of our brain, so for many it freezes their creativity.
