This is so deep, and you put a lot of thought into it. It is well illustrated, your color choice is perfect, love how you both punctuated and centered your poem.
Beautiful, beautiful work!
I wish you the very best in the contest!

Thanks for your encouraging review. I was thinking of people like trump who think they have everything, but in reality, have nothing meaningful. When all is said and done, there is only the cold, shiny and reflecting metal to comfort you. Cheers, j

I was thinking of trump with his gold gilted lifestyle, but nothing of substance when all is said and done.No faith, morals, true love, compassion, friends or decent legacy, but some shiny, reflecting, cold metal. Thanks for the review. Hope you have a Merry Christmas surrounded by love. Cheers, j

You are welcome Gert

This is an excellent poem and entry for the contest
Unfortunately, the wordings is very miss leading in the prompt.
It says "under ten words" and you have exactly ten.
This probably needs to be changed.
Otherwise, a fine poem with a very good message
Good luck in the voting

Yup, judester.
We can't take "it" with us, that's for sure.
Why gain the whole world and lose your immortal soul in the process?
The world and everything therein is only temporary.
But eternity is forever.
Good luck to you in the contest.

Thanks for the insightful review. I didn't want to poke the trumpsters here, but c'mon, I see him surrounded in gold decor and sitting in the White House, yet he has no moral compass, respect, compassion or truth in his life. The riches that truly matter when all is said and done. But...what me worry? I'm Canadian. Cheers, judester

Hah, yeah, and be glad you ARE Canadian, LOL.
My pleasure, Merry Christmas!

Canadians are praying for our Southern family and I do believe America will rise better than ever, after this fiasco. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and powerful New Year. Cheers. judester

Thanks!
