Hi Alicia,
I love Christmas! Always have, always will. I used to sneak downstairs as a kid, and feel under the tree in the darkness. Most gifts were wrapped, but a few were placed "from Santa Claus".
Yes, it was a special time. We kids had to be on our best behavior of the entire year! Mom would threaten... "Santa Claus can hear you down the chimney, so you better be good!"
Can I offer a few suggestions, mainly for meter?
"Christmas is quickly approaching
Annual judgements are coming
Who's been naughty?
Who has been nice?" ... ( I suggest,
Christmas is quickly approaching,
And judgement the perilous price.
Which little kid has been naughty?
And which little kid has been nice?)

"Write Santa a letter
Or sit on his lap at the mall
Confess your sins and feel better
And pray to get at least a new doll" ... ( I suggest,
I'll have to write Santa a letter,
And sit on his lap at the mall.
Confessing my sins, I feel better
To pray for at least one new doll.)

I could go further, but you get the idea for a bouncy meter. You could polish the rest, and post the new poem for this December. I know it would shine.

I believed in Santa Claus until I was at least 13 years old. I couldn't believe it when I heard the kids at school, saying there is no Santa Claus. I think it was probably that very same year, I had a dream on Christmas Eve that I heard Santa's sleigh on the roof! The runners were sliding along on the snow, bells were ringing, a even reindeer hooves pounding above my head! I waited, scared to death, so excited that Santa Claus was real after all! Then a few minutes later, away went the sleigh again, with all the noise! I snuck out of bed, and crept downstairs. Sure enough, I could feel his presents... unwrapped! He had been there! It was him! I've believed it for many years. I still would like to believe that it wasn't a dream. I was awake for the whole "encounter"!
I'm glad I found your Christmas poem this morning. It brought back some wonderful memories.
Hugs,
Kimbob

This poem about the holidays, Let the Truth Be Told, finds us hoping against hope that Santy doesn't really check his list twice.

Six stars for thinking outside the box and for being a little bent, mystery writer.

This had me laughing! "Oranges and crackers are nothing new either" ... LOL I love your sense of humor! "Be scared of the year past, you might be screwed" ... hahaha! All of those children had better watch out, and not pout, because if they've been naughty they'll surely find that lump of coal in their stocking. Great choice of picture to complement your write.

Great job! Best wishes for the contest with this gem of a poem. Luv it!

Hugs,
Connie

MERRY CHRISTMAS POET: I like this posting in that it is a good one for the kids. I've imagined that it just might be relative to the situation at hand...to leave this posting posted on the screen while I'm trying to get a wink of nap...while the little rascals stop romping and running and gather around my computer...for a few. "YEAH," Thank you for sharing, poet. I needed this. God bless your clever soul. Cordially: rhonnie69.

Hi! People say Christmas is for the children. However, I think it's for everybody. We all get something from the season like renewed hope. However, if you want to give me a gift, I'll enjoy it. Lolz. God bless you. Merry Christmastime. Thank you. Hugs, Alicia (aka Sunnilicious)

A very well-written poem/story about the real truth of Christmas that is hid behind gifts, Trees, and Santa Which is all a myth while the real reason is played down, the birth of Christ.

I enjoyed reading this poem and I wish you much luck in the contest. Image is heartwarming and sweet. We all hope for a merry Christmas and worthy of receiving a gift. These are lines that jumped out at me and gave a giggle:
"Annual judgments are coming
Who's been naughty?
Who has been nice?"
Oh-oh, putting the fear in all of us. A time for self evaluation. Santa seems to give us a gift anyway.
