This poem has such peaceful images. It makes the reader just want to curl up on its banks and just be with the sounds of the water. There is a very powerful metaphor in this. You've also used some nice onomatopoeia to give a good sense of the sounds we would hear were we to spend time with the water. Well expressed. I am voting for this.

A very well-written Terza Rhima about the joys of the river and how the water playfully go down the stream until they get to pools where the come to a still stand it is always great to see how the water flows.

Good Terza Rima poem with aba bcb cdc dd rhyming scheme and eleven syllable count. Good artwork choice for theme. I liked the first stanza most of all. Didn't really like the "exercise workouts" as the rest of the poem puts the reader into nature. Enjoyed reading this work.

You have chosen lovely artwork for this prompt. You have done a good job following the prompt for this contest. The Terza Rima format is new to me and I am glad to read your verse to see how it can be done well.

All the best,

This is certainly a winner! A beautiful Terza Rima, and beautifully illustrated. I truly enjoyed the personification of the river ... ripples, frolics, smiles ... working out, murmuring, relaxing, reflecting, lapping and being set in its ways.
Love it! I wish you the very best in the contest :)

Eleven elevens, and carried over rhymes, looks like this is on spec for a terza rima.
Lanier had a similar infatuation with rivers, and Song Of The Chattahoochee was required reading in ancient times...excellent post.

I enjoyed the somewhat convoluted rhyme of this form particularly the c rhyme where the naturally stressed syllable is the eith and the full rhyme rests on the unstressed final syllable. This can be a dangerous route to tread but it works here because of the closenes to full rhyme of the penultimate syllable, and the random nature of the river's peregrinations. A case of a good match between form and content.

The picture you chose is very relaxing, I can see myself sitting on a bank with a fishing pole. I enjoy the terza rima style of poetry because it rhymes, it makes sense and it invokes emotions within the reader. Very nice job.

I enjoyed your descriptions and metaphors for this river of life and you chose some clever words that resonated with me. I liked this line: "the exercise workouts it will twist and wind". You have created a beautiful poem and this form is not easy, a joy to read and deserves a six, love Dolly x
