This is good. Men trying to figure out women. Why do they always wait to see what we do first? This is very good. All your writing is great. It flows very well with the previous chapter. You have done it again.

I figured it was pretty realistic, at least at my house. LOL Thank you for the kind support.

A whole lot of drama. It's almost like a '90s sitcom. I see you've engaged in another "will he, won't she" kind of phase in the relationship. I realize that you have to draw the relationship in stages: first hug, first kiss, first cuddle, etc. The problem is you have to balance the awkwardness with actual signs of affection. Otherwise, when you finally do reach the climax, it will be stiff and rushed. Good job with the chapter. I look forward to the next installment.

Thank you for the kind review. I don't the boy meets girl and they jump into bed. I like to actually build the relationship.

This continues to flow well and hold interest. The dialogue is good and the action tags are well considered.
Maybe an Egyptian name for the cat? Isis or Osiris, perhaps? ...Toots (Tutankhamen)
It sounds as though Shana is about to initiate that kind of conversation that a man doesn't much want to hear!

Good morning, Barbara
Enjoyed the continuation. Virtual six. Loved the banter between the characters, especially between Shana and Anderson having the short debate regarding the milk's temperature.
Excellent hook with the last three lines --
As she warmed the bottle, Anderson touched her arm. "We need to talk."
"I already know what you're going to say. What you want can't happen."
"Please explain why not.
Well done!
Take care and stay safe,
Ray

Barb, I have enjoyed your friendship and your stories, but life gives us many challenges. Writing antebellum stories has been a passion for me however, it is time to say adios. I am closing my account with this site. Thanks you for sharing all of the wonderful comments about my stories, it has been quiet a party. It is time for me to move on and if any inquire my absence, tell them old writers never die they just run out of ink.
My blessings to you and your family. You have been a dear friend.
Merry Christmas.

Now, I must confess I was totally at a loss in this latest should-I, should-I-not between Shana and Drew. I read the post three times but still failed to connect the dots. So, as a reader I'm feeling sort of left out.
What happened after Shana's tears, following the conversation with Emily, that I missed to get? I feel totally stupid here, lol!

Shana has feelings for Emily and Drew and the conversation with Emily brought those feelings to the surface. Thank you for the kind review. I'll rework that area.

Barbara,
Isn't it funny the things you find out when you're writing a novel? I would never have known that about the cat. *smile* I imagine some kind soul here revealed that to you?
Nice chapter. Looks good to me!

Israel. Isaac, Jacob, Benjamin was the 'Son of Encouragement' though that was in the New Testament, and I don't think they believe in that, do they -- so scratch that, Ezra, Abraham, Ezekiel, Job -- but then, you may not be looking for Biblical names...

I love that you include a character list in all of these posts. I really enjoy reading Anderson and Shana's story. It seems like she is hesitant to give her heart and he is intent on receiving it. A timeless tale! I love the idea that drew is a billionaire who for once cannot have what he wants. A great story! Keep them coming!

Her emotions opened up, and she had to run for cover. Maybe, this is the beginning of her showing her feelings for Anderson.
I wondered about the kitten's name and then you clarified the need to change it. Loving a pet can bring a person out of their shell.
