Enjoyed your supernatural fiction, Yvette! But it is under biographical fiction so did part of this happen? Some well done pictures do seem to activate our imagination so we feel we are in the picture.

Thanx for stopping in, Helen -- don't know how it had 'biographical' flipped as I was pretty sure I had selected 'fantasy', but I did go back and correct it. :) Glad you enjoyed the right -- always appreciate your input! :) ;)

I like your story. It's well-written. I feel the rich patron was written a bit stereotypically.
And while I like that you featured a wounded warrior, I'm a little uncomfortable with his angelic portrayal. Perhaps I'm being too sensitive.

Peace, Lee

that is great Twilight Zone material, there. the writing is so fluid, that is a gift. if you could send what your thinking for scary Christmas, it will trigger something. my trouble is I like Christmas too much to make it scary. sorry so lame, Yvette..

Thanx for the read and review...glad you think it read smoothly - I always worry on these short, LIMITED writes! :) ;) :)
Like I said, I allotted time this weekend .... as a starter, did we FINALLY decide on Frosty or is it okay to go another way...? I just can't remember (Thanxgiving and all the family stuff threw me off) and then this lame message app deletes things 'forever' (literally) and there is no 'search' for reviews...and, I'm sure you don't want to hear my nerdy tech gripes - sorry!! Just let me know about direction - whichever is cool, just need a 'pointer' for the brain! :) ;)

Bravo, Yvette! Brilliant! Love it. He can't sell the painting because it's how he escapes from his hard life now and then. How very clever! I hope you win the contest! :)

Oh, Phyllis - thank you-thank you-thank you, ma'am!!! :) ;) You have really made me smile and I am so honored with those stars!! :) ;) As with almost all of my 'writes', both Colin and his Miriam stole a piece of my heart when I put them to paper -- think that's why I can't do 'horror' too well...it gets too real, you know?! :) ;) Anyway, thank you for your wonderful confirmation that I 'did' the two of them 'right'! ;) ;) Take care and have a wonderful weekend filled with beach dreams of your own (maybe we can usher in Spring a bit earlier since Winter sure hurried itself in here, right?)!! ;) ;) Yvette :)

Bravo, Yvette! This is some great writing. I wish I had saved a six for it. It is cohesive, paced well and the dialogue is exceptionally realistic. Very good and you will have my vote in the contest if they are posting it in the booth. You should write more prose, my friend. Happy Holidays. Bob

Oh my goodness, Yvette!
This piece of Flash Fiction is priceless. I am particularly appreciative as to how you introduce the character of Colin to the reader in this paragraph: "Yes, he had painted all of them himself. No, the wheelchair did not hinder his abilities to reach his canvas. Yes, he'd been paralyzed from the waist down in Afghanistan over a decade ago." This bit of writing is masterful.

And then, there is the ending: I didn't see that coming! What a creative turn of events!

How I wish I had six stars to wend their way to you! So deserving.

Best Wishes!

diane

Ok Yvette you is a writer and I'm happy to know that we have a contest to win. I wish you the best in this 500 Flash Fiction Contest. You write a very good write. I see myself behind you because I think you write what the club members want to hear... something wonderful and very sweet. A very good entry for the Flash Fiction Writing Contest.

Aww! That was incredibly beautiful! It made me go all goose-pimply. I love the way you wrote this, I was standing there with the lady and wistfully looking at that lovely picture. Your writing is superb, and this is an extremely wonderful Flash Fiction entry, and I'd be very surprised if it didn't win. Well done, I'm so pleased to have read it. :)) Sandra xxx

This was very well done. I admire anyone who can tell a complete story in 500 words or less let alone a beautiful and moving piece like the one you have penned. I think this a real contender thanks for a delightful read,

Rob

Very good, Yvette. The story is set up well and with good descriptive phrases and a logical flow. Dialogue is good too. Great job on the 500 words. I know that can be difficult.

Good luck,

Melissa
