I like to vote in these contests, and I particularly enjoy tankas. I have one more to read, but I can't imagine that I will like it better than yours. I am sure that I will be voting for yours.
I love your first line and your satori. They are so moving. If only we could tuck those moments into our soul. With phone cameras at hand, we can capture moments of beauty. It's not quite the same as committing moments to our soul. That is the thought that I like. And the words "wistfulness yearns" conjures up all kinds of emotions.
Your artwork depicts "dawn's glowing fire." That's exactly what it looks like.
Now this is a tanka. Thank you.

To be in the wilderness and to see a sunset like that, is worth a fortune. I can't help but think being able to enjoy nature, is one of the great gifts this planet has to offer. I wish you luck in the contest.

You are most welcome, Melissa. I have seem similar sunsets, but none quite like the one illustrating your poem.

I think you created a special moment with the picture alone but the words bring the still photo to life, by finding that very essence tucked away in your soul, you can capture the glow of the day, imagine the wind blowing through your hair as you gaze upon the cotton candy clouds. Excellent Tanka poem, true to form and has the Japanese spirit as well, superb stuff.

A very well-written Tanka and a beautiful sunrise has a great impact on the rest of our day, a vision we cannot forget for the rest of the day until the sun sets and we have another vision of bliss.

Excellent Poem! The author's words are descriptive, interesting and
creative. The reader pondered on the theme of this poem. Should
the word though be through. The artwork is great and compliments
this poem.

Beautiful poem. Makes me remember being so young ;
the magic of youth. Do we really ever lost that magic. I would say no and my husband would say yes.

Dear Mystery Writer,
I like this tanka quite a lot. It is rich and glowing in the images and definitely captures a moment in time. I have felt this way before, too, wishing I could catch a moment and keep it forever. Nice! Good luck!
