Hi, Barbara,

Awww. I would love to have a kitten. I think this is the longest stretch of time I've ever gone without a cat in my life. However, Bernie would never tolerate a cat, nor it's time with me.

The story continues to move along, and I just wish Shana would realize she cannot turn away from this love. (Maybe Drew should volunteer to convert?)

Sorry, I'm so late in reading this - NaNo, teaching, holidays, and decorating for Christmas!!

This was an emotional chapter and another step into the character of Shana. You did a great job here, letting the reader see another corner of what she is deep down. I can only hope that between Emily and Drew, Shana will finally step into her true feelings instead of merely agonizing on right or wrong. I can understand that a certain upbringing keeps you in a certain straight jacket and some people break out later rather than sooner.

I really enjoyed the chapter but sadly out of sixes. Tom should consider raising the number of sixes a week!

"Well, little lady(,) what are you going to name him?"

Thank you for virtual six. They're just as good. I will make that correction.

Hi Barbara,

Good instalment once again. Shana is getting entrenched in this family whether she likes it or not, it seems.

I know this is definitely just me but I found it peculiar Shana would want to call him Aslan who is basically a Christ figure, given that she is Jewish.

Shana showed her the suit. "What do you think? - need closing speech marks here.

All the best
G

I never thought about that. I will have to rethink that, because you have great point. DARN!!!! That's why I post. My reviewers catch things like that.

Barbara - I know I've complimented you before on your use of dialogue. This piece is no different. I find your dialogue to do a wonderful job of giving me a mental picture of the moment...Something you most often see with narrative. Well written, no suggestions for improvement at all. Bill

Things are moving along very nicely. Now they just have to take care of the Russians so Anderson and Shana can focus on their relationship. Shana is still unsure but I a sure Anderson will do that for her. Nice work with this chapter.

Saving a kitten is a sweet way to start this, at least I think so. I think when you name animals it is done by their personality or characteristics. It's hard to fight with someone about anything when you have feelings for them. I am curious to know how she is going to get the painting back when she's is falling for this guy. This is well written and flows well from your last chapter. Once again your writing is wonderful.

We need to get Shana's papa involved, surely he would want his beloved daughter to be happy? He knows Drew is a good man. Aww, we lost our lovely cat last year and I miss her so much. Perhaps it's time we had another one. I think Emily is going to need Shana more once she knows her mother is dead. It seems she spent a lot of time on her own. I can't wait to read on. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

I like to take kittens and rub my nose on their fuzzy little bellies. They are so soft. I am a late comer to the beginning of your book, so don't know the ins and outs of it. I think that is why I can't figure out where this is set. It is an interesting chapter, and I can pick up on setting later. The new kitten is a nice touch. I'm glad the dogs like him. Emily seems quite precocious. I think you did a good job on this, but I'll have to read another post or two, before I can really settle in. So far -- Good.

Hi, Barbara. This chapter keeps pace with the book very nicely from wha tai can gather. Your imges remain strong. good.

Suggestion: "Zachery reached inside a black, cloth bag and lifted up a very tiny kitten."
Try:
( Zachery reached inside a black, cloth bag and pulled out a very tiny kitten. )

Also: "Maybe Simba. He's orange, and I like that movie, "The Lion King."

Good job, Barbara. Bob

You are knitting this family together nicely. I think it is time for this to happen. It is good and holds the attention of the reader. The kitten is a perfect tool. Well done Barb.

Throughout the entire novel, Shana has told me she wanted a kitten. I had to wait until the right time. Thank you for the kind review.
