Excellent, though what a shame for his music that will never be heard, this is a very powerful read as with the great artwork it shows the deep grief he was enduring, very well written****kahpot

What a powerfully penned piece, Santiago. Your carefully chosen words to convey the magnitude of his grief and the visual description of him 'no longer strumming those sterile chords,' was astounding. My son is a guitarist...I envisioned him while reading this. How sad it would be to no longer hear him strum those chords.

Your rhyme in this ode was perfect and that meter worked well ... you conveyed a poignant message and shared a timeless tale of loss and grief while elevating it with the most absolutely haunting image. To me, this piece reads cohesively and is presented with deliberate intent. An excellent penning, dear.

Hi Santiago, I really liked your poem. It flowed really well and the imagery was really nice too. I've always thought of Picasso as that, more like primary colors and disjointed pieces sort of guy. I was surprised to see someone still in one piece! He must have been out of his tree You said it was his "Blue period?" I must confess to visiting my very first art museums last summer and being quite taken up with Monet. Susan

I really enjoyed reading this poem. The fine metre and rhyme make it a smooth read and easy to remember. The theme of lost music that will never reach other ears now shows the tone of sorrow. Your word choices create strong images.

A great poem and a pleasure to read.

I was drawn to your poem by the fact that I love Pablo Picasso's work. The artwork complements your poem and your poem enhances the artwork. Don and Vicki.

I didn't know this was painted after his good friend committed suicide. No wonder it was Pablo Picasso's blue period...of pain that's unconsoled...a silent ode to Pablo
Beautiful
God bless

Let it never be said that one cannot learn valuable lessons from poetry! I was woefully ignorant of this painting, the history behind it, the symbolism of the very angles of the body, the life events in 1902 that made Picasso even more receptive to the downtrodden as he painted this in 1903--I went off and visited several websites to learn more and gained a deep appreciation of just how beautifully you captured the essence of this painting and the artist! Superbly written...every line is a work of art, but my favorite: "Ageless fingers resting on forever silent strings-The world will never hear the sterile chords that you conceive" Superior work worthy of many more than six stars but alas--that is all they allow me to offer you... Hats off to you poet!
