Hi Earl, I know what you mean. I've seen it too. I have worked with disabled people and the adults who ran their program non-profit were wonderful. The ones who took over for profit were horrid. Then there are the ones with babies and small children their dissapointed in and won't touch. I'm devastated. Nicely said.

Thank you Susan. It's like I said the other adults make the job harder. I appreciate you reading and reviewing my work.

I agree I think that technology has spoiled the children as well but the parents have to take the brunt of the blame. Parents should only allow electronics after chores and family time.

I see no reason why a 12-year-old needs a cell phone. This generation doesn?t read anything unless it?s on a screen, walk to school or respect adults. Thank you for reading and reviewing my story.

Parents are afraid of their kids for the kids threaten to call the cops saying they are being abused so they can get their own way.kids kill their parents for saying simply they can't watch TV or they are grounded.

Absolutely correct. Kids only get away with what you let them. Thank you for reading and reviewing my work.

First good luck in the contest. I rated this a six because it was honest, it captured a great point and was extremely truthful. I think in the olden days as I like to call them, children were sent to school to be educated and to learn manners and rules. Discipline was more than suspension, where they went for a freely scheduled hour and goofed off. There was strapping and sitting at the front of the class on a stool- being shamed for your action. Homework was completed on time and there were no cell phones. Then they took discipline from the school and parents did not know what to do. Their discipline source was gone, so children became free willed. I fully agree that adults are the biggest problem and I am not sure if there is a fix. Anyway thanks for a great piece of writing.

I appreciate the six star rating, especially this late in the week. You're absolutely correct about how it it was and how it should be. Thank you again for the six star honor

Sorry, Earl, I disagree with your Nixonian take on a Trumpian problem.
Time has out-paced us. You can't turn back the clock.
What's wrong with today's youth is for today's youth to sort out.
We, Earl, are breathing anachronisms. As it should be.

Peace, Lee

I dont belive its a just aTrumpian problem. It could be a Reagan, Bushian 1&2, Clintonian, and Obamian problem. Not trying to turn back the clock, the prompt asked for our opinion and I gave mine based on 26 years working with at-risk kids. But I totally agree that i'm an anachronism, and i'm ok with that. I appreciate you taking the time to read and review my work.

Hi Earl. I like your meaning in your notes very much!! Our youth are so important. I would mention that in the first line... should it say ... Why (are) America's youth troubled.... is the subject plural or singular???? .....That they can say anything they want to to (whomever) they want..... An example would be (,) in the school....

Have a great day!

Melissa

Melissa, the prompt was Why are America's Youth Troubled. I'm kind of gun shy since I had a piece disqualified earlier in the month. I do appreciate the advice you gave me. Thank you for reading and reviewing my work.
