Your well-crafted senryu reminds me of nearly every holiday with one of my sisters! Yikes! GAWD! She could find something to "grouse about" even if nothing existed!

Aaaaack! :) ;) ;) Gonna tell you a secret I've only told one other person on this sight: the way I handle entering the contests is such that I enter, vote for me when it starts, and then NEVER look again. Not even kidding. :) ;) ;) ;) When I first joined FanStory, I used to monitor them closely and found that it affected my mood more than I was comfortable with....especially when two or more would be neck and neck with only an hour or two to go and then, suddenly, one would get this deluge of votes to put it the winner...when, well, you'd wonder why. :) ;) :) And that would be the only reason to closely examine the results: to analyze why mine didn't win, to see what was 'better' about the winners, and, from what I could discern, the results really didn't sit well -- and I hated such negativity in my 'outlet' passion!! :) ;) So, with my new 'system', if I get a notice of a prize, then I am so very excited - truly!! But, if no notice appears then it doesn't affect my mood...just check the 'Voting Complete' box and push the 'Delete Checked' box...I don't even look at the results. I guess some might call it 'sticking my head in the sand', but I call it continuing to be able to write and enjoy writing without some insane pall hanging over my 'fun'. :) ;) :) Of course, I am and always will be an insane blonde mathematician so, there is that part of this equation to consider....LOL!!! :) ;) Blessings, Sir Dean, and thank you for your support and encouragement! :) :) :)

You know, when I first read this, I had no earthly idea what in the hell you were talking about with the 'scary Christmas' .... until I took some time just now and glanced at the contests! :) ;) :) Yes! I would love to!! My brain hasn't gotten into that gear yet, so lay your ideas on me and let's get the dialogue going! :) ;) Oh, and so far as the write is concerned? Was starting to plan the T-giving menu and this was a result of some of those 'thoughts' ... seems this sentiment always creeps into gatherings of, shall we say, one side of the family?! :) ;) Take care, dude, and I look forward to your ideas! :)
