Although this is not in strict iambic pentameter Christine, I did enjoy the sentiments very much and wish you luck with the contest but I fear your sonnet may not pass the adjudicators scrutiny! He he he, but it did scare the hell out of me! Love Dolly x

Hi Dolly, Thank you for your review I may need to revise the meter to meet adjudicators scrutiny as you suggest any suggestions welcome Cheers Christine.. Not my usual genre but fun to try.

Hi Christine, it?s difficult to make the changes to your work to bring it in line because some of the word choices do not fit the metre even if you swap them round, I did have a go! The word sinister mucks things up a bit. Love Dolly x

Hi Dolly. Thank and yes it is out of wack but I will just leave it as is .I wont stand a chance in the polls anyway so I just see it as a bit of fun to have a try.Thanks anyway Christine xx

Good luck with the contest Christine. I am so glad you accepted the challenge from Dean, you did rather well. It had a great rhyme pattern and was comfortable if not frightening to read. You did rather well with this, thanks for sharing.

Haaaa, well this is sinister enough alright, Christine and a perfectly apt metre for the subject at hand. Wells always do give us a bit of a start so this works out as planned.

Good for you, Christine. I cannot truthfully say that your sonnet terrified me. It will not be keeping me up at night. On the other hand, I don't think that I will be walking to any well with you.

I think this is quite a good sonnet, horror or otherwise. If I tried to write a sonnet, it would truly be a horror (literary). I admire those that can write a good one.

Goodness dear poet it was not fun . Thinking of murdering a friend is not really a joke. It speaks of a twisted mind. The more we think of it as fun and an honest joke desensitizes us of the evils of murder. I may not be politically correct but I was told demons inhabit horror stories. God bless.

Hi naussus Thanks for your review . Well I seemed to have shocked you but truly it was purely fot the sonnet challenge and I would never dream of murdering anyone so please rest easy. I think poetry is so interesting as I never know what I will write until I start and often the ending is never planned . Sometimes I even surprise myself with what come out. sike thiHi Pam Thanks for your review I even surprised myself such a thought but purely for poetic purposes.
No I am safe to walk with although not at the moment I am laid up as I had a fall yesterday tripped down my daughters step and landed heavily on my L knee then fainted from the pain. a trip to hospital no breaks i hope but it is stll really sore and I have taken today and probably tomorrow off work. May need the week off . First injury ever like this so feel like a goose so no walking . the dog is dissapointred . so I can rest and write No wonder my brain is dark LOL Cheers Christine

Yes Actually I started to write the sonnet while sitting in the hospital Emergency Dept waiting to be seen 2 hours wait so filled in my time LOL goong to my GP today as I propbably need more time off work still stiff and painful to walk so no hope of working and walking all day. It will get better but like most injuries takes time to heal. Cheers Christine
