Hi Marilyn Thanks for you review no place this time. 4th place
Had a fall 9 days ago hobbled around Since Had Xrays today Nd have fractured my tibial plate in my knee so need screws inserted next Monday and then off work for a few weeks Bugger a nuicance but will be a good patient and do what I am told ( something new for me LOL) So no doubt I will have plenty of resting time so can write a bit more to keep busy. Lucky my husband is hone for the next two weeks so he will help.
First injury in 66 years however it will fix eventually hopefully I wiil be vack to normal by xmas. cheers Christine

Hi Christine. I'm so sorry you had a fall and injured your leg so badly. Do what the doc advises in recuperation. Glad your hubby can help you. Will keep an eye out for your good posts on FS. Marilyn

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the love of reading. When we were not able to read we will not have any knowledge about anything and we will not be able to evolve from generation to generation.

You caught my interest with your 5-7-5 because I love books as well. I have ten tall bookcase full. I would rather read than watching TV and I like real books, not the electronic kind.

Excellent

Vicarious living is an excellent way to describe the life of a reader. It's not such a bad life. As a reader, I am never bored.
I used to tell my children to always have a book on hand. Then they will never be bored. Have to wait at the doctor? Read. Then at least you are having fun. I was dead serious about my advise.
That's what your poem makes me think of. It also makes me think of the many adventures that I have shared while reading. So many books have gotten me excited and I have wonderful memories of my time reading them. Right now, I am reading all of Agatha Christie. I can't wait to go to bed at night to escape into her world.
I love where your poem sends me. Good job.
My only suggestion is to make the word "taken" a more active, stronger verb--something that pairs up with excites, like transports me or removes me. Someone told me on a review once that strong verbs are the key to good poetry. Best review that I ever had. I use it every time that I write.
