I'm really interested in the rhyming scheme. I'm trying to teach first graders about rhyming and it's not going very well right now. LOL I did enjoy reading your contest entry and wish you the best of luck.

Thanks Barbara I still need to get around these Quatrain as Roy Owens says this is (quite by accident I assure you) and some of the other poetic forms. Thanks for coming by. One of the others says the Haiku format is a lot looser in rules than some say as well.

Your Medic Alert Medallion is certainly comprehensive! At age seventy-five, I could identify even though my ailments are different. I admired your good spirits and your rhymes.

I have not been able to connect with FanStory since last week due to the wildfires. We are not within the evacuation zone, but traffic on Pacific Coast Highway is closed at Sunset Blvd. and sometimes there is no access through the McClure Tunnel from the 10 Freeway. Also, we are without internet, phone, mail and television. Periodically, we are without electricity as well, and we are not sure what will happen when the winds change tomorrow. I am writing this from the Von's Market parking lot at PCH and Sunset, from which I can walk the mile home if I cannot make it through on back roads by car. Generally, we will just stay home and have flashlights and batteries ready through the week. Take good care of yourself- Joan

This is great.
Your do a great job of eliciting laughter to things that would make others cry. Sweet laughter beats salty tears.
I always enjoy your humor.
How's your lovely bride?

You're quite the medical marvel with all those ailments. You must have acquired a lot of medical knowledge, having all those problems. I take a lot of medication myself, but they're not nearly so exotic as what's been prescribed for you. Those medic alert medallions are a great thing. They surely help save lives. Excellent rhyme and I think one can use some poetic license. It makes the writing fun. I'm glad you can find a sunny side amongst all your medical issues. judi

Wow, Geoff, I'm so sorry about all your health problems. You say you're 68. It doesn't seem all that old to me. I'm 66 and all I take is an aspirin now and again. I hope you'll be able to cut down a bit on the pills. You've written a great poem. A joy to read. All the best. Ulla:))

You must possibly rattle when you walk Geoff, with the amount of medication you're on. You must be stretching all the boundaries here dear friend. Well done with your medical report written in articulate rhyming quatrains, well done, blessings, Roy

Quatrains huh! Have to write that down. Following a Regulation and not knowing it! I really do have to get into these poetic forms more. Thanks Bro. I do say from time to time "Shake me I'll rattle, squeeze me, I'll cry!" hehe. I am trying to find out more about our mother as to her comment years ago about being a pin cushion from all the needles she apparently had.

My goodness, reading this was exhausting. You certainly have a lot to deal with. Do what your doctors say and if you doubt them, tell them. Never be afraid to question doctor and make them explain what they are doing in language you can understand. I am lucky I take a lot of pills but my health is pretty good.

Thanks mate. Glad you caught this. I wish we could meet, sadly maybe not on this side. As I said to Bob Hartson some of us have had health battles others battles of different kinds as you and he have experienced. The Endo put me on the Hydrocortisone. I asked her was I a bit unique. She agreed because of all my Medical things.

Glad you questioned your doctor and that she responded. So often doctors just hand you a prescription and shove you out the door.

Yeah they do hence my Definition between "Account Doctors" and "Hypocratic Oath" ones. Our current is the latter and our former (his wife) the Former hehe.

Hello Sankey
You are right about aging with your rhyming poem is very good, I like how you ended your poem--
My local doc has come up
With a plan to get to "Seven"
Gradually increasing Insulin;
Means my numbers should be "Heaven."

Whew! That is quite a list, but I think most of us in as we approach "middle age" start to accumulate a list. My favourites are the aches and pains that have no origin at all. Currently my knee hurts though I have no memory of doing a thing to it. LOL Well written and reads smoothly, that's the key. Hang in there, that's all we can do. It doesn't keep you from writing great poetry or having a lovely wife. :))

This is a very well written post and poem about your health and what is going on in your health. Diabetes is not any fun as Tom and I both are diabetics Type 2 also. This is very well written my friend. You will be in my prayers! Blessings, Teri
