Sorry I took so long to get to this. I have been giving my eyes a rest and hope to be able to spend a little more time on the computer. I have read several entries for this contest and this one, by far, is the best. As always beautifully written and tells a great story. I wish you all the best in this contest too.

The reader found this story very appropriate for the competition. Who among us can know about the future? We are now living in an era full of uncertainties and general upheavals. Whether these will take a turn for the better or for the worse, nobody can tell.

I wish you all the best in the contest with this excellent writing.

I love this story of yours, which was so well told. Do I believe in time travel? No, I don't, but I love the concept and I do believe in ghosts as I've come across one. So what now? I have to go along with your story. I loved it. All the best. Ulla:)))

Thank you so very ,uch. A therapist once told me top go back in my mind and tell the little girl it would all work out. Guess that's where I git the idea.

There goes my last sixer. This is a great story. I remember a movie, "Mona Lisa Smile," in which a college professor tried to wake up her students to the fact that there was more to life than just grabbing onto a man. The setting was the 1950s, and I think things have changed since then. Great presentation of Mary, coming to grips with her belief that attracting a man was the only worthwhile thing in life. Her talk is directed to girls who, like her, wore make-up and dressed in ways that would get them attention from the boys. Her message to them is to make something or your life, to make your own choices. Don't rely on a man to make your life meaningful. Excellent story, and best of luck in the contest. judi

That philosophy was sure part of my 1968 marriage at 18 and my divorce.Y es, better now. I was told and believed college was a waste of tine and money for girls.

Thank you so very much for the stars. You have always been so supportive of my writing--even when I disappear annd then slip back in. Thanks so much.

You're welcome. I'm always glad to see when you make an appearance. Quality, not quantity, is the important thing. judi

Nobody can possibly know their future, that's why your story was so interesting. Modern times are changing viewpoint, some. good , some, not so good. There was a psychologist on the the radio the other day saying men had had their "maleness" it had been stolen from them, young men weren't entering the primary school system because of accusation issues that can't be shaken irrespective of innocence. Yes the world is changing, some good, some not so good. Beautifully written, a pleasure to read.
Typo : Curling around he(r) face.2 : Jenny wa(s) the teacher in charge.

You deserve six stars for this one, old friend. You took the writing prompt to a new level of expertise. I have read some of the other entrants and yours tops them all. I'm very impressed by this story. Best of luck in the competition.

Jenny was the teacher who [wa nows] in charge (TYPO)
I saw that one typo in the story Ingrid. Time travel may very well be possible. Things have changed so dramatically since I was a girl I would say anything is possible. Who would have thought man would walk on the moon? Good job.:>) Nancy

Some folks believe there is another dimension right out of reach, living a lateral life on Earth. Thanks for the alert.

That was definitely a pleasure to read. It flowed smoothly for easy reading, definitely related to characters.
The part where it reads, live his dreams, accept his values, you have he values.

You have written an excellent contest entry. You should do very well in the voting booth. Contests on FanStory are difficult to win. Most of the time, I don't finish in the top three.

A fascinating story. I hadn't expected to like it but when I started reading, I couldn't stop. You certainly have a fertile imagination and a way with words. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this won the contest.
