Hey, Yvette.
This story kinda reminded me of an episode from HBO's award winning Tales From the Crypt television series (Season 1, Episode #6).
Sounds like Mac nearly let the cat outta the bag to his mother (no pun intended).
Good flash.
Best wishes to you in the contest.
~Dean

Heard of the show 'Tales from the Crypt', but we don't get the 'pay channels'...just basic cable + wifi. I had no idea that there was an episode or tv show or whatever like this and I certainly didn't copy the idea from any where. :) This was just one of those 'enter it to challenge yourself as an author' contests for me ... horror is certainly not 'my genre'! :) ;) And I'm pretty sure this is it for me, though, as I just don't do 'dark' very well...:) ;) Thanx for stopping in. Yvette :)

I like animals a lot but this fella goes a bit far I would say-ha. Quite creepy-reminded me of "Psycho"....on animal planet. LOL great entry for the contest.

Good use of 200 words, Yvette. I think you may have another winner here. I liked the surprise ending of sorts in particular. I think you related a complete story here. Bravo! And good luck in the contest. Bob

A very well-written two hundred word flash fiction. It is hard to lose a pet, but it must be someone who is very disturbed to steal his beloved cat's body just to have it nearby. A great horror theme.

Wonderfully twisty story - I don't understand the line about the cat body though. Is Cecilia a cat? I didn't think so, but on the second read through I wondered if I was wrong.

Have a great day, and good luck in the contest!

This was interesting and I had a feeling that Creelia was a dog.
Close.
It read and flowed well with no Grammar Issues.
Thanks and good Luck

Hey Yvette You got the 200 words I assume. Now let me say that you had me going for a while, but it is gross. Who in the right mind keeps a dead cat and sleeps with it? This is a good entry for the 200-Word or Under Horror Flash Fiction contest.
It wasn't scary though it made me laugh. :) :) ;)

your write has suspense, that should set it apart from the creepy ones.

You write so creepy, Yvette. I was hoping you would offer up some great Halloween treats for us. Did I mention that you write creepy?
That photo adds so much. I kept looking at it as I was reading, hoping for some clues. My mind went through all sorts of possibilities, but a dead cat was not one of them. Boy it must have smelled.
Another awesome, creepy job. Good luck, This one could easily win. There are a few writers who are expert in the terror genre, but they don't write as well as you.

Did you really like it, Debbie? :) ;) This was one of those 'enter it to challenge yourself as an author' contests for me ... horror is certainly not 'my genre'! :) ;) Maybe I do creepy (like Poe? I don't know), but horror [the death, the gore, etc] ... I tried but I just couldn't 'go there'. :) I've been telling other folks that this is it for me - I just don't do 'dark' very well...:) ;) Thanx again for stopping in -- here's wishing you a wonderful week of light and uplifting Halloween FUN! :) ;) Yvette :)

I still think you do it well. It is creepy without the gore.

Nice work up for your story and he wasn't letting mom know it was him that stole the cat back. LOSING AN ANIMAL IS A BIG DEAL.
