the spiral into the cesspit of life-that piqued the interest up a notch, and I wasn't disappointed. Jeanne and Helen against the Mafia, sounds pretty lethal to me. Going well with this intriguing story,

the spiral into the cesspit of life-that piqued the interest up a notch, and I wasn't disappointed. Jeanne and Helen against the Mafia, sounds pretty lethal to me. Going well with this intriguing story,

Ha! I may have to reword that opening sentence to make it clearer that it was Jeanne who rescued Helen from the slums of Bangkok, and not Charles! I haven't really considered a romantic connection between Jeanne and Helen ...yet! LOL

Your plot keeps getting more convoluted and sophisticated. Your characterization is outstanding as well--particularly of the women. You give them a depth that I appreciate. I look forward to the next chapter. Out of six stars to award. I read too many good authors like yourself. I just can't keep them.

Ah, the plot moves from soup to stew.
It seems the journal of Helen is the key to mafia's involvement
but what could young Helen have seen or written that is so important?
The journal hidden in her apartment, doesn't sound too safe.
This is very well written with slow reveals of information.
The connection between Helen and Durant is now a bit clearer.
The exotic locations add to the overall interest of the story.

The lot is getting a bit complicated, I admit! Only Helen and Mme Durand have any idea of the contents of the journal at this stage. There is some clarification in the next chapter. All the best, Tony
