What a great response to this writing prompt. I love the description of the positive versus negative emotions of the girl looking in the mirror. As readers, writers, and those with human emotion, your poem can resonate with many. Well written, and a great contest entry.

Thanx for the read and review, Cindy -- so glad you dropped by and even more excited that you enjoyed the write! :) :) I think there are always two people (or more!) rolled into each of us -- and it's a matter of personal choice which one we show the world each day! :) ;) Have a wonderful weekend! :) ;)

This is a great short piece! I liked the fact that you used a mirror to depict a positive and a negative self image. Something that we all struggle with. For me, this was hard topic to write about and you've done well! Great job on a short piece that makes one consider the good and the bad about oneself.

This is a great contest entry, Mystery Author. Your focus on the woman in the mirror clearly fits the dark/light theme of the contest. I like the picture paired with your well-chosen words. Those words are descriptive and create great imagery. Good use of colored font, too. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan
