A fascinating take on American history and a very plausible one as well.

I have no doubt that the collective brain power that existed at such an historical time, would have been more than cable of devising and executing such a brilliant plan.

We have had some great presidents and military leaders throughout our 230+ years, however, we have never before or since had such a collection of leaders with equal measure of intellect and courage as our founding fathers. Washington crossing the Delaware was one of many acts of courage and sheer determination that, as you state, changed the course of history.

These men were far from perfect and in many ways products of their time, but how they chose to rise to the challenges in a time of great adversity made all the difference in the ultimate forming of our country.

I so enjoyed reading this piece. You are a compelling writer and an imaginative storyteller.

I know the crossing of the Delaware was one of the keys to to the winning of the revolutionary war, and even Napolean marching on Russia was the key to the British defeating him in those wars, as was Hiter's mistake in doing the same thing in WW2. We visited the war sites, in the region of Virginia Pensylvania, Both civil war and revolutionary wars in the summer of 2014, it was fascinating. Well dine, a great article and entry, well written, God luck, blessjngs, Roy

Roy, thanks so much for the kind review. I can see how visiting those war sites must have been fascinating. So many important battles took place in those two states. Bill

WEll, you have added a different twist on the British American wars. It is a rather long writing and I started to lose interest before I reached the end. However, it is well-written and I wish you luck in the contest.

This was really interesting. Goes to show how things could have been different. You do a nice job of describing the real events and then proceed with the alternate story. Once again, this is a very good read, and a great entry. Good luck.

It was a very good read. I'm not sure it would have turned out all the same or not. But the story kept me interested the whole time. It had a lot of details and was easy to follow.

Interesting what if, leading to further speculation. What if the British had reacted like Lincoln to the loss of his main income and refused to relinquish the south and its cotton. The war between the agricultural and industrial would have been a war between England, and the south, and Lincoln's north, and would most likely have ended differently...hey, excellent post...
