this is a lovely poem that fits the picture perfectly. it is also good advice, Cyndy and I set the "Rules of Engagement" (a happy and sappy pun by me). it guides us through disagreements and keeps us on point. no Imaginary Lions. this is a sweet write, dude.................meeshu

So glad you enjoyed it, dude, wasn't sure how the sentiment would be received, but I've been pleasantly surprised so far! :) It's been a crazy weekend, but short poems I could do as a distraction from the crowds! :) :) Will be playing catch up, but I'm determined not to stress over it!! :) :) You both take care! :) :)

Best so far, talking always sort things out and add relevance to the word sorry,
(so no more
'apologies' are needed)...
Is kind of AHA moment in your poem. Best of luck.

That's always the best approach, really.
The ability to communicate with your significant other, no matter how difficult the topic, is of utmost importance to sustain a loving, trusting and long lasting relationship.
Best wishes to you in the contest.

You are welcome and you do the same.

Straight to the point-- and a wise advice, that talking over stirs up what's been sleeping and causes honesty to surface. I enjoyed this poem. The photo is inviting and speaks also of honesty and transparency.

Very good. I liked it a lot.
rehearsed words have no meaning...
How true. The only words that mean anything are those said at a wedding rehearsal.

So glad you enjoyed it, Thomas, wasn't sure how the sentiment would be received ... and, perhaps, I'm still not sure...?! :) Thanx for stopping by this evening and have wonderful remainder of the weekend! :) :)
Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written poem about apologies that can sometimes come forth as rehearsed and meaningless. To keep the peace it is sometimes wise to accept the apology before it is offered.

This poem speaks seeking apologies may stink, better we should discuss and solve everything and there is no need to seek for apologies; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR

Haha, this is a humorous one. Apologizes do sometimes stink, because we have to think of something meaningful to say or we might screw up . We are either forgiven or not forgiven , no in between.

This is a great contest entry, Mystery Author. Good job with the prompt. Your picture is a great pairing with your thoughtful words, too. I like the message of both talking through the issue rather than 1 apologizing. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes Jan
