This is a happy story and I am always ready to read about dogs being adopted. You show in your words how happy both boy and dog are, they each have a friend now. This is an great theme for a story.

Firstly, good on Matt for adopter a shelter dog. That is by far the best way to come by a new best friend. Secondly, good on him for having Petey inside, not shut away from the rest of the family most of the time, as some people do. Petey sounds like a true sweetheart. A very lovely story, Teri.
