Yvette, this is wonderful, tender and bittersweet. I missed this somehow and wanted to congratulate you on your recognition! I realized when I saw it, I had not reviewed your fine piece! Very well done. I'm so proud of you!
All my best,
Sally

Wow, Sally - thank you so very much for your read and review here -- never too late to drop by any time for any read!! :) You know, I wrote this one on a rainy day when I already had 'the blues' ... not a broken heart, just the occasional 'female thang' (seems no matter how old we get, the hormones still catch up to us once in a while, doesn't it?!! lol) ... but it made the mood and word choice more 'straight forward'. :) ;) :) Thanx, as always, for dropping by and be sure to have great start to the weekend filled with adventures of the heart or of the mind (or both!!)! :) :) Yvette :)

It's like a romantic poem. This person is wooing a woman. She does sound like someone special. I like the poem. It's good. Good luck in the contest! Perfect.

This poem is short and sweet and very emotional. The nature metaphors work well to describe the fleeting love and the longing for it to return. Well done.

Congrats of placing second in the contest.

Keep writing

Congratulations on your win, but the poem didn't do it for me. To trite and old hat. Kennecticut

Yvette, another great one from you. Loved the way you weaved the effects of weather on the manifestation of physical contact. Loved the first line: Your kiss was in the rain last night... It's so romantic -- a reminiscence of the Indian in me where rain is always an aspect of love, romance, and fun.

Ok, so there is a correlation between being super intelligent and the ability to write good poetry...who knew??!! I love everythig about this poem. Usually when I read "romance" poetry it leaves me a little let down. This poem did not disappoint. Wow!!

This is a lovely tribute to the memories of a very special person. With words you painted a picture that involved our senses. Touching, poignant and very well penned. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful and expressive, the words really make me feel the narrator's longing. And the lovely photo completes the impression nicely.

Thanks so much for posting and have a great day!
