I had to read this post when I saw the title, because my forty-two-year-old son just went on a date after a year-long hiatus! Thank you for teaching us about kirigami and some Japanese culture. I liked your clever reference to "Jack and the Beanstalk" and your use of dialogue. Cheers- Joan

SHE IS RAPIDLY BECOMING BORED WITH THIS WHOLE SITUATION WITH HIM SHE IS THINKING THIS WAS ALL A BIG MISTAKE TAKING HER HAD AWAY.

Wonderful conclusion! You already prepared us for a disaster but you made it delightfully hilarious. Obviously, he's nervous and a bit oblivious and she's bored. I especially like how many different and funny ways you described the boredom from " reeking with boredom, " to the "speed of light surpassing sound." Well done. I'm sure the next dating experience improved.
My Japanese neighbor said she hated origami. Lol.
