Scary!!!! You set a happy carefree scene with a happy toddler throwing a pacifier, and then he's suddenly gone! Every mother's worst nightmare, I imagine! Nice story and a good entry into this contest! Well done!

This is an excellent flash fiction story and entry for the contest
a good warning, too.
This can happen so quickly it's hard to believe, even to those who are cautious.
Well written
Good luck in the contest
RS

Excellent. As the father of two grown boys, I shudder when I read this. A kidnapped child would be like pulling a vital organ from your body. My heart goes out to any parent and child who have experienced this. Hugh

The title says it all! You set the scene swiftly in the store with Mom enjoying Robert's antics with his pacifier. And then he's gone! The tragic truth is that this can--and does--happen.

That would definitely make a parent's heart stop cold. I'm glad the character and the inspiration for the character were quick thinkers and able to seal the area. Good fear flash fiction entry.
